Just as an experiment, I thought I would ask you all the following question about my own K1 case. It will be interesting to see what everyone thinks will happen. And will help me understand what everyone's saying here.

I express-mailed my I-129F on May 18; according to the postal employee, it should have arrived at the VSC on Friday, May 19 at 3 p.m. We will see if my return receipt is in the mailbox when I get home.

Now, I used the very latest in forms for my submission, which were the same ones the USCIS website has been offering for months now. Nothing new, no fancy questionnaire pursuant to IMBRA.

So tell me what you think will happen to my case, assuming my petition was otherwise correctly prepared. Be creative. No, don't. But tell me what you think I'm in for.

If the IMBRA law indeed has a new form to be issued, my guess is that you´ll get an RFE to submitt this new form. If it´s just extra checks done by USCIS about the petitionary, then you just wait.

I am in the same boat! Filed I-129f under current instructions, which have not changed, USCIS just got it today. I am thinking if they need anything I'll get RFE, but hopefully not! Really, if they need a new form, they should have already updated it, or what - everyone has to wait?? I know that there should be a new form, but they have not issued it yet! Just another frustration!

Yeah, believe it or not they will send you another request for the petitioner criminal records.

When they will do that is what we all wanna know.

Doesn´t seem like it will be soon since Vermont informed a Congressman that they are still waiting for new instructions.

Who should we call, email, write a letter, or whatever in Washington?

Does anyone have advice from a lawyer? Not that they always know what to do, but maybe there are other suggestions out there for how we can get some straight information?

My lawyer said we need to wait until uscis contact us.

I won´t do that.

But at the end, I think things will be clearified when they contact us, and only that way.

I have not done this though there are numerous answers to posts where people have directly done whatever their Representative and their two Senators' offices told them to to get the elected Government official whose duty it is to get these types of anwers to get the answers. Some have had success; some seem to have had different responses. Your mileage will vary. Persist!! Your telephone book will have the representatives and you can call the local office and ask if you're street address is in their district. Then ask tell them the situation of which they'll be clueless, usually, and tell them it's urgent and how best to get and answer. The elected House and Senate members are also on the web.

Okay, thank you. That actually clarifies what people are saying a great deal. Sometimes I have trouble sorting through all the information given out here when panic has ensued. Thanks for your patience, everyone.

I just have to laugh (ruefully), because government agencies get extensions on implementation deadlines all the time. You'd think DHS would have asked for one, for the sake of its employees if nothing else. Better to ask for extra time than to stay up all night finishing your homework the day after it's due.
