Hi all,

Just received I-130 NOA2 today. I am turning focus onto NVC now.

One question: I hired a lawyer to handle I-130 so USCIS would notify NVC that I had a lawyer on file. But I decided to do NVC part myself. Do I need to inform NVC or how and when. From NVC website I found that NVC uses different steps depending on whether a case is handled by a lawyer or the petitioner himself/herself. So I want to start with the correct steps from very beginning.

Thanks.

Have you prepared the agent of choice form? If not that needs to get to NVC designating you as the point person

YMMV

Do we have to wait for NVC to send us DS-3032? I wonder if NVC thinks I already have the agent (the lawyer), it will not send me DS-3032. My original question was how can I start with NVC by telling NVC I myself will be the agent?

From my knowledge DS3032 usually mailed to the beneficiary by the NVC. He/She appoints who could be the agent on the form. In order to speed through this process you could follow one of these guides.
