Can someone who has already gone through IR1/CR1 Medical Examination process elaborate on how they handled the big list of Vaccinations list here:

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/in...cinations_are_1

I have gone through the forums but did not find satisfactory answers.

This info is needed for my wife (age 24) in Hyderabad (India) who will be getting interview at Chennai Consulate in ~1.5 months.

Any folks who have recently completed this step for Chennai Consulate please provide input.

Will the Lister Metropolis Laboratory in Chennai do them?

Any one from Hyderabad who have done this step?

Can we get necessary vaccinations from any physician/lab in Hyd? Are there authorized ones in Hyd?

Or should we just get it all done at the time of Medical Examination? What is the cost/benefit of doing this?

Thanks!

Don't worry about the vaccinations, its already included to your medical fee & your wife could have her vaccines during her medical exam. don't be bothered about the list of the vaccines, she won't have to get all of these.the vaccines will depend on her age, health condition & family history of disease if there are any... :)

I guess you can, usually people do it with their own physician or my wife did it with International Red Cross in her city and they will provide a booklet for all of your vaccinations. I thought this might be a help.

Good Luck

Vaccination requirements are dependent on age and gender. Refer to the chart on page 15 of this document: http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dq/pdf/ti_vacc.pdf

I am also 24 and was required to have: Tdap, MMR booster, HPV and Varicella (not required if you've had the chicken pox before)

Hope this helps :)
