hey,

how are you doing? i am very happy to have joined this group i am having problem with the ages differences i got married to an American citizen last year and we have been working on our paperwork and i might likely to have my interview by next month and i have heard that American consulate in Nigeria do denied visa based on age differences i am 39yrs old while my wife is 53 yrs old pls anybody with a good idea about this topic and i will appreciate any good advise as regards to this topic....it do give me a nightmare and i don't know what i can do about it.... my wife is so precious to me and i can not wait to meet her again......

The CO cannot deny you because of your age difference but it may make them look at your case a little bit more. Just make sure you have a lot of evidence to prove you have a bonafide relationship.

The other poster's are correct they can't deny it for that reason but..... you can pretty well be assured that you will be put on AP. My SO and I have an 11 year age difference. I went over to Nigeria in May to see my SO and while there, met with the investigating officer at the Embassy, when I asked why we were put on AP, I was told it was due to our age difference. She said, age differences such as ours is just not done in Nigeria, it's not accepted, especially by the family. Not true in our case but.... that's what she said. I would certainly make sure you have tons of family support, lot's of pics with her and your family. They did a home visit in our case and talked with neighbor's. If I were you, I would just prepare myself for AP and like the other poster's said... make sure everything is in order. Good luck!

09/03/08 - Visa Approved!!!!!!!

09/10/08 - Picked up visa

09/20/08 - Arrived in the US - WHOOOOHOOOOO!

12/06/08 - Wedding

01/12/09 - AOS sent
