How do we change my wifes name now we are married?

Which name do we use on the AOS application? Her new

married name or her old single name? Do we change her

name on her social security card before or after AOS?

Thanks for the help I am confused, because now we are married

my wife wants to use her fathers last name as her middle name,

instead of her mothers maiden name.

For me your wife is correct. I used that way in processing my AOS, I received my permanent resident card this month, it is approved without interview and also my EAD and AP. I dont have any problems. After I received my EAd i applied for a change of my SSN card from maiden name to my married name at the Social Security office.

Use her married name in the AOS application.

I am confused, because now we are married my wife wants to use her fathers last name as her middle name,

That is the Philippine way. When Filipinas get married, we drop our middle name (which is actually our mother's maiden surname) and use our father's surname as our new middle name.

I did not have trouble with the authorities here in the US when I insisted on doing it the Philippine way instead of the American way. Some Filipinas did it the American way. At any rate, either way is acceptable as long as your wife is able to prove that she is one and the same person.

Do we change her name on her social security card before or after AOS?

Before or after does not matter. As for me, I applied for name change right after I got married.

In Ohio, to do the PH way requires a legal name change, $85 and 8 weeks

So it will be the US way.

Will get new SSN when receive marriage certificate, before AOS, (while preparing)
