Are you serious!!?? What do you wear for an interview in Scotland then!!!??????

William, put it this way: anyone that comes through my door at interview that isn't wearing a collar and tie at the very minimum is shown said door immediately thereafter.

A suit at a job interview yes, at the embassy I don't know if I will wear one. I'm still at 2 minds whether to take it or not.

Oh, I see. Sorry, but the bit of your post I enlarged kinda leaned towards a job interview - my bad. The embassy? I don't think it matters one bit what you wear to that. Or at least it shouldn't.

I think that you will find that very few people wear a suit for there interview at the embassy. If you wear it you will prpbably feel over dressed and possibly a little less comfortable.

In my opinion, it can never hurt to go in looking your best and make a good impression. Not saying that it'll honestly impact the adjudicator's decision, but then again it might. At least in the sense that he can see you're dedicated, and want to come across as professional and sincere. At the very least, I personally would wear business casual clothing. One of the things they want to be assured of is that you'll both we well off enough not to become public charges in the States, right? Well - don't show up looking like a pikey. :)

Don't make yourself unnecessarily uncomfortable, of course, but make a good impression.

Well, my now husband wore smart casual for his embassy interview. We've now been married more than 6 months, so I don't think his outfit made a whit of difference in whether or not the visa was granted.
