Lol For as funny as this is, Canada does suck on Sundays just because everything closes so bloody early. I remember going to the mall at 5:30pm to do some quick shopping and it was closed. I think Zellers was the only place open after 5. Guess everyone's got to get home early to build back up their igloo that mostly melted from the afternoon's sun haha :)

My wife has been back since June 5, 2007. Now we're just livin' man, L I V I N :)

I would hope that we as Canadians aren't going to start generalizing about this too

Canada does not shut down on Sunday - that is the only generalization we can really make.

If you are in Calgary on a Sunday, the malls are open until around 5 - Walmart is open 24 hours if you run out of milk, you can find a grocery store open probably until quite late and if not there is always the 24 hour 7-11!!

The museum is open, there are movies to see, the restaurants are open, liquor stores are open - you can go to the zoo etc etc etc etc

I'm sure if you visited muckdetuck Maine on a Sunday it would be pretty sleepy - or holeinthewall South Africa - that's the way of the world...not necessarily the way of the huge country known as Canada.

 That's what I was thinking!

I was talking to my neighbour one day and he said my accent sounded different, I said I was from Canada. He's like, "Oh I've been to Canada before!" I asked, "Oh yeah? Whereabouts?"

He says "......Canada..."

:ot2:

No not everything is closed on Sundays, it may close EARLIER but yeah no stuff is still open. I mean, what would us montrealers do without their beer?

I do have to say that I was SHOCKED at how many things were closed or had extremely limited hours in Winnipeg. All I wanted was a can of sweetened condensed milk for goodness sake! NO ONE that sold it was open (now...if my dearest, darling fiance had gotten it ahead of time like I asked him to it wouldn't have been a big deal..."I thought evaporated milk was the same thing?" indeed...and that's how I learned who would be doing the shopping in our marriage).

See my timeline for my K-1 and AOS/EAD/AP details.
