My better half is currently interviewing for a new position. I'm worried with her greencard expired she will get hassled. We filed her I-751 a few months back. I did a search on the subject, and didn't come across much. She has her extension letter from the USCIS. Should we do anything else in the meantime?

If she had an unrestricted SSN and driver's license, she should be fine.

No, she wouldn't. You need the documents on the I-9 Employment Eligibilty Verification form. If she shows up with only a driver's license and a SSN, she will be requested more proof.

As was said before, an UNRESTRICTED social security card and a drivers license is all that is needed, just like a US citizen. The unrestricted ss card is only given after you get a green card.

With her current extension letter, expired green card, SSN card she should be fine. If the proposed employer says otherwise, then you might inform them that she is fully eligible to work here and if they try to exclude her for that reason, then they are discriminating against her which is against the law.

Some local offices will not give stamp. I myself went for a stamp on my passport and they rejected saying that the NOA letter is sufficient to travel and work. In this case the SS and DL is fine to get a job and in case if the employer asked the leagal status he/ she should show them the expaired GC with the NOA.

Her SSN says she can Work with DHS Approval.

The extension letter looks like it gives her permission.

Thanks for all the input.
