Small mistake on the cover letter

On our petition, that was sent a couple days, ago, there seems to be a small mistake on the cover letter. I would assume something like that shouldn't and wouldn't be a big deal, but I'd still like to hear your opinions.

On that first sheet, the cover letter, it says I-129 Petition for Alien Fiancee, instead of I-129F. I-129 is something completely different (some work-related visa?), but I assume this is more considered a typo, than something USCIS would sweat over, but.. you can never be sure, I assume.

Opinions, please?

I would expect no problem from this as long as you actually filed an I-129F.

Yes, it's I-129F in the package and everything else, after numerous checkups and triplequadriplemillionchecks is inside. It's just the 'typo' on the cover letter that does not the match the actual content of the package.

Thank you.

The cover letter is courtesy and not required... It would be interesting to know if they pay attention to it at all....

YMMV

I guess we're just not doing things right, so I have another question.

I assume a check without a date can't be cashed and will be returned to my fiance? He just remembered he didn't date the check.

Assuming they'll return it, how long should we expect this to add to our processing time? Is this the same as any other RFE, or, even better, is there anything he could do to correct this mistake?

The petition was sent on Aug 20 and received today. It's CSC we're dealing with.

please start a new topic with a new question so that others can find the answers easier. ;)

Whether they cash the check or not depends on the person processing payment. If there is a problem with the check the entire packet will be returned to you.

I was actually hoping I could edit the title of the thread, but it seems I can't really figure out when you can, or can't edit your posts. It seems random! Either way, I don't think I should now start a new thread, since this one's already been replied to? =)

I hope they'll will try to cash it as soon as possible and then return it promptly, if the person processing payment decides to start nitpicking. Right now, we really hope they'll just want the money. ;)
