Hi guyss!!! I'm a new member here, and I'm waiting for my k3, just like the most of the people here! It's soooo much cool this VJ and all this people to share our histories, and to learn some tips about all the process! So, lets talk about some tips! My visa is processing on Vermont, and I read here, that some of you call USCIS often, for to know about your cases. Me and my husband have a laywer there in Sarasota-Florida, but, he always say to us that dont have any news about our case, and I think that if we call USCIS they can give us some news! What do you think? My husband tried to call there today, but he thinks that the number they have on website is not the right number, for to know about our case. Anybody knows other number to call there? I am asking that, cause my husband moved to West Palm Beach, and, informed USCIS about his move. After that, he received some notice, saying that his change of adress had been done correctly! But Guys, seeing our case online, it is pending since March 31 when they received our I-129 form. So, what do you think? Do you think that he can call there to know about our case? Wich number? Please, help us! We are thinking with positive thought, and we know that the k3 will be approved soon, just like yours guys! But, we really wanna know if they have any update that is not on the website!

Thanks a lot for help us, and we really appreciate read you coments and your posts, they are helping us a lot!

Kisses and luck to everybody!!!

You could call them, but they tend to give you the same info that the on-line system can give you.

Really??? He tried this number but he sad that the "machine" answered, not a person!

Guys, sorry, I wrote the wrong name in the topic. The correct is "USCIS PHONE" right? So sorry!

Thanks YuAndDan

As well, the published phone number is to a call center, not actually to USCIS itself. There is no public phone number available to reach USCIS. Sometimes the call center will 'escalate' the call to an Immigration Officer but not to find out the status of your case. They only have the same information available that you see when you check on line. They are also notorious for providing a lot of 'mis-information' so it is good not to rely on them.

If you look at the tool bar at the top of this forum you will see something called 'Processing Times". Click on that and then you can check for the current timelines for K-3 visas. These are based on the actual cases of VJ members so tend to be more realistic than the published figures from USCIS. You can then see how yours measures up with others who are going through the same process. Good luck.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

He has to navigate his way through the automated system in order to get to a live "Customer Service Rep".

However, unless you have a specific question about procedure or paperwork, they typically aren't very useful.

The people you have access to aren't the ones working on your case, they're just trained to answer simple questions

or transfer you to someone who can handle complex questions. However, if you receive an RFE or other direct mail,

they can tell you what's going on with your case...but if there's no "problem" with your case, there's nothing they can tell you

except to keep on waiting.

But hang in there, sometimes things happen faster than we expect. Keep your hope, and stay positive.

Hi!! Welcome to VJ!!!!

Querida, unfortunately... according to my looong experience you'll have 3 kinds of answers, the "we don't know", the "we can't tell you" or false/contraditory information. We just have to try to relax and wait for them to contact us if there's something wrong or you need to send more stuff.

Good luck!

I think that luck is a MAJOR factor in getting meaningful help. Also working to the correct point in the phone menu. If you opt out at the wrong place, the reps seem to have a script geared to their set of issues.

Heyy!!!!How are you VJsss???

My husband called there, and talk to someone that told him that his address was changed correctly, and that the cases from Vermont are walking faster now, cause after the increase of the visas prices, they received a lot of applications, and just now they are normalizing with the cases. So, we believe that more approvals is coming from Vermont, anddddd....between them, is our, that we know that will be ready soooo soonnnn!!

Guys, lets believe, lets keep being positive!!!!!

Thanks for all advices about USCIS PHONE!

Hey, Carol!

I'm also waiting for VSC since March. The date of our NOA1 is March 26th but we sent our papers on the 18th... So in our heads it's been already 5 months! Just like you, I've been wondering if my husband should call USCIS and ask if there is something wrong to our case and see if they tell us something interesting... We thought about finding a reason to apply for expedite. Even though his family situation is very complicated now because his father had a stroke, we think VSC is going to deny if we request an expedite because his father is not actually dying. (Thank God!). But, if we decide to call VSC I'll let everyone know. However, they probably won't give us any news... Besides my husband thinks he will be rude to the officer since he's getting nervous with all this wait.

Well, I've seen approvals from February and even someone from April (what makes me a little jealous), so I'm trying to be positive that our approval is coming soon! I hope yours too! Good Luck for us! :star:
