Ok so we got our LND number on 8/18...I called DOS again today to see if by some miracle it had actually gotten to London and no such luck. Gareth has all his packet 3 stuff filled out (not his real P3 but the one from here) also has his new police record and his medical is next Thursday (8/28/08). We are getting so anxious now and cannot wait to have that interview date!!!! Gareth doesn't want to send on his "P3" until he knows for sure London has our stuff...this is prob good idea yeah?

Ooh the waiting let me tell ya! :crying: haha....

You're getting there sunny!

Yeah, I'd wait on sending P3 until you're sure London has it. I'm sure you'll have your interview date soon enough! Sounds like you have everything else in order so...hang in there!

Hmm, one of the forms from packet 3 they actually send you (it's a checklist). Is there a copy of that floating about the net?

Just curious, I didn't see it until it actually turned up :)

Yep. But. Be a little bit careful because these VJ packet 3 forms are now a bit out of date I think. They say 03 at the bottom. There are threads on the UK regional forum relating to people sharing more up to date versions.

I am not too sure what you mean by the LDN number. Is it the case number? I have received packet 3, and will get it here in the US by courier on Monday... I was thinking of Fed-exing it straight back to the embassy that night, after calling to make my medical appointment. Is that not a good idea then? Am I supposed to wait for something else?

Thanks for bringing this to my attention!

Your LND number will be included in the Packet 3 letter. :) When you send back Packet 3, you just include a letter with your full name, LND number and list of contents on.

Be aware that if you ask for Packet 3 to be signed for in London that it may take a while for them to get around to actually opening it.

Really? Are you saying that it'll be opened/actioned quicker if sent by regular mail? How so?

I may have interpreted it wrongly, but that was what I understood.

It's because it is delivered to a PO box and not directly to an embassy member of staff.

Having read these threads, it doesn't seem to make a huge difference:

Either way, I sent mine by regular first class and it arrived there fine. I guess it's really up to you!

Sunnybear--Your case was delivered 8/21/08 at 2:03 PM in Lambeth UK

I did the DHL tracking thing on yours.

But it takes a couple of days for them to get those packages opened, to the right dept, processed, whatever they do. Mine got delivered to London the 12th and their postmark of sending P3 was the 20th, so thats about a week turnaround for them. Maybe he should wait until Sat or Mon to send to make sure you're in their system, especially if he's using some fast delivery method.

And to Kate. Your new case number given by NVC starts with LNDxxxxxxx for LONDON. You can call the Dept of State and they will tell you the new number, when case leaves NVC, when P3 has been sent, when your interview has been scheduled, and when the visa officially approved and printed....all before you get snail mail with the information. DOS rocks!

Note to Sunny: DOS may not say today that London has your packet because it may not be logged in, but you could call and ask.
