My case was received by NVC on the 18th, and since then I've made 4 unsuccessful attempts to get my IIN as follows:

19th @ 11:30pm: "I can't give that to you."

20th @ 8:30am: "Its not generated yet."

20th @ 11:00pm: "Its not in the system yet."

21st @ 8:15am: "I cannot give that information over the phone."

I intend to call in the first and last hour of every day that they're open until someone gives it to me. I'm just curious...for those who have successfully obtained their IIN from the NVC, how did you word your request and/or overcome their objections? So far I've simply outright asked for the Invoice Identification Number. No one's asked me why or given me any more info, just an immediate "No" response. I'm also interested to know if anyone's been refused, or threatened with refusal of, further assistance for calling NVC too much. LOL

i waited till the AVR said the bill was generated then called to ask for it and she gave it to me no questions asked and I didn't say why I needed it. Also, I called after 7pm EST just because everyone says they're nicer at night and they seem to be lol

Don't say anything about paying online, just "May I have the Invoice Identification Number, please?"

If the rep tells you not to pay online, just say you want it for keepsake. :-)

If the rep still says no, call again till you get one who will give you.

Patience is a virtue. There is nothing to be achieved by pestering anyone for information that isn't yet available. It's only been three days since they received your case.

I got the IIN 2 days after the case # was assigned, it should be available already.

Yes it definitely is available. The first rep and the one this morning both confirmed that. I didn't argue with the 2 who claimed it wasn't available, but told the other 2 that I'm aware of the issues with the online payment system and have no intention of using it, and just want the number for my records...but no dice. I'll just try again tonight. :)

Sooner or later someone will give you that number. I have got documents from NVC and the IIN number is not listed in any of them. This number is in their system and not any documents. Good luck.

what number should i call to get the IIN???? thanks you...

The number for the NVC is 603-334-0700, and you'll have to speak with a rep to ask for the IIN. Took me 8 tries, but I finally got it last night at 11:15pm EST. Didn't seem like the guy was buying my "I just want it for my records" story, but he seemed too tired to argue and gave it to me anyway. :D
