The saga continues.. I called USCIS today as I still haven't received a notification on my biometrics appt being rescheduled. There still is no word about an appt, but the agent had other news for me. It appears that we have been selected for an interview. He said that the file showed that we had enough evidence (we should have...we sent over 100 pages! :angry: ), but we had been put in category B which means that we were "randomly" selected for an interview. The other categories are A and C with A having enough evidence with no interview and C being denied with not enough evidence.

The interview letter ironically was just sent today, so I will expect it in the mail within the next few days I guess. I'm surprised that the VSC has moved quickly on our case but at the same time, I'm peeved that we got selected for an interview.

If anyone else has had an interview, can you please post what questions you were asked. I'm now going to trawl through VJ posts for anyone elses interview experiences.

I-130 for both parents

March 28th 2013 - Priority date/ NOA 1
November 14th 2013 - Transferred to Nebraska Service Center

January 7th 2014 - Case changed online to approved for both

January 8th 2014 - case changed to shipped to NVC

January 9th 2014 - case changed to NOA 2 mailed

January 10th 2014 - Received the hardcopy of the NOA 2 stating that NVC would issue a case number in 30 days approx.

January 21st 2014 - Case Received at NVC

February 26th 2014 - Case numbers and IIN number received - Wrong embassy code assigned...now waiting for new case numbers.

March 3rd 2014 - Filled in DS-261 for both parents

March 5th 2014- AOS available, paid and submitted AOS packet.

March 6th 2014 - USPS shows packet was delivered at NVC

March 10th 2014 - AOS shows as paid in the CEAC portal/AOS logged into system as being received by NVC.

March 11th 2014 - New case number assigned for my Dad.

March 20th 2014 - Paid IV fee for my Mum.

March 25th 2014 - AOS accepted by NVC with no checklist.

March 26th 2014 - Filled in and submitted DS-260 for my Mum

March 31st 2014 - AOS found in my Mum's file for my Dad - accepted and placed into his file/IV fee available for my Dad and Paid.

April 1st - Mailed all civil documents to NVC for both parents.

April 3rd: IV fee shows as paid in portal/submitted DS-260 for my Dad.

April 22nd: checklist issued for civil documents - NVC error ...

April 23rd: sent another certified copy of my marriage certificate

April 24th: Case complete! :)

April 30th 2014 - Medical scheduled for parents at Knightsbridge in London

June 11th: Interview at London Embassy - Approved :)

If he actually told you you were 'randomly selected' and you had plenty of evidence you don't have anything to worry about... they have to do a certain number of interviews just for quality control purposes, but you won't get interrogated or anything.

Given how slow VSC is at the moment an interview is VERY good news - given you are legitimate (it's only bad news if you have something to hide)

If you are interviewed by an immigration officer, your case can be approved right there at the interview (as long as you get your biometrics done and your background check comes back and you satisfy the officer sufficiently) - If your interview appointment letter has already been sent out, that could be VERY good news.

Anyone else with their file sitting at VSC will currently have a wait time of at least 1 year - but with your interview, if everything falls into line, and all goes ok... you might have it all over within 6 months of your filing!

I would be so happy if I got called to interview right now! lol

I'm also surprised that VSC is moving on it with action given that many of you guys have been waiting a year on average. We certainly do have a legitimate marriage, and I can bring more evidence to prove it if necessary to the interview, as we are just back from vacation on tuesday from Grand Cayman and have pics from that in addition to pics from a cruise that we took just after we filed the I-751 in May.

Its so weird though to get an interview before I have even done my biometrics, but USCIS is never straight forward with anything I suppose. The agent that I got on the phone was the nicest that I have ever spoken to. He took the time to go through things with me and wasn't stiff like the other people there that I have encountered and apologized for putting me on hold when he had to.

Anyhow I will keep y'all updated with our quality control interview :thumbs:
