So I had a real RFE a few weeks ago on my I-864 packet (my Dad who is my joint sponsor didnt send his W2). I had him send in the information and the automated message said that they were received on August 13th. (They already got my DS-230 packet to, so I know that on the 13th it had to have been the RFE information that they received). Yesterday I called and got this message

"The NVC has reviewed your packet of forms and found information missing or incomplete on your financial information. The NVC sent a checklist letter on August 18th"

I called and talked to an operator and she was so confused she had to call a supervisor over to help her. They couldnt find anything missing from the case so her explanation was that the 2 things must have "crossed in the mail" even though my stuff got to them on the 13th and they didnt send out the new checklist until the 18th... I'm hoping this is a mistake, or is it possible that it's another RFE on the I-864?? Thanks!

I think this is a false RFE and this message is referring to the DS 230 requirements. Go ahead and get all of those documents ready!

I heard the same message on the automated thing and I received no RFE on the I-864 info.

Good luck!

This EXACT same thing happened to me! It drove me nuts!! I asked to have a supervisor review the file and then our case was complete in 5 days. They never actually were missing anything the second time around. Something dumb got triggered in the system. A few days after our case was complete, I received the 2nd RFE letter requesting the same stuff the 1st letter had requested. So somehow they re-submitted the RFE after they received the response....good luck to you!!

Long story short, we have a complicated case. We've been at this for nearly 5 years. You can read our story here. I highly recommend our attorney Laurel Scott, as well as attorneys Laura Fernandez and Lizz Cannon .

Filed I-130 via CSC in Feb 2008. Petition approved June 2008. Consular interview in Mexico, Oct 2008, visa denied, INA 212a6cii. We allege improper application of the law in this case.

2012, started over in Seoul: I-130 filed DCF on 7/2, I-130 approved 8/8, Medical at Yonsei Severance 11/20, IR1 appointment in November 2012.

CRBA filed 1-3-13 at Seoul for our daughter
