I just called the DOS too!!! However, unlike you, I got the most unhelpful specialist. I gave her my details, she kept me waiting a while, which I thought was a good sign, then all she could say was 'You're still pending'. When I asked her what the latest date-stamp was, she said 'well, you had your interview 22nd February'...I said 'No, I mean when was the last time it was looked at?' She answered that they're not obliged to date-stamp the case every time it's looked at, and whoever told me that was mistaken...I replied, 'That's strange every Friday when I call and ask they tell me that it was looked at last week etc'...'It's still pending'. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

It's so unfair - I honestly believe that we have a right to some basic information about OUR application and OUR data. I've a good mind to call again and see if I get someone a little friendlier and more helpful within the confines of what they can say.

Oops, nearly forgot to say I hope you get a response to that email soon, as well of course as the all-important email telling you that the visa is ready!!!

Call back - nothing brightens your day like one who'll give you a little hint. I can't remember her name, had an N in it somewhere. Best of luck to ya! How's the weather in the UK? I'm headed over for a few days next week for business... It's been sunny in Paris for like two weeks straight (unheard of in early Spring!)

We want details...is it just me or has it just come out of the blue??

Gosh, so that's six visas issued this week, and hopeful news on another three? (Hot Guy, Starlight and Meredith_Brahim...have I let anyone out?) It really has been a great week :)

Yay this definitely good news...have you started planning when he's coming over yet? :D :D :D

Thanks for the encouragement, I did :) The weather here has been quite pleasant for the past four weeks, much nicer than usual for this time of year, but of course as we have a three day weekend starting tomorrow the forecasts are predicting rain!

Every single time I call DOS, the first words are 'Your case is still pending' or words to that effect. This time, and in direct contrast to the first woman I spoke to who refused to divulge any such information, the lady immediately said, 'The last action on your case was April 15th when Congressman X's office made an inquiry, and it's still pending'. Having read your post, I asked if they were actually working on it, and she said, 'Yes, they're definitely working on it because Congressman X is waiting for a response, and the 15th wasn't too long ago and these things do take time'. I asked if she was able to tell me if it would be resolved in the near future and she replied, 'We used to have more information, but DOS decided that we talk too much and therefore they block this information from us, so I honestly can't tell you any more'.

You're right, I definitely feel a bit better...especially having now heard that Wellmux has just got his visa :D :D :D

I called the dos on april 28 and the man said the visa had been approved, also on that same day i sent an email to the embassy and recieved a reply that they would soon contact my husband, i called 3 times on april 28 to confirm this information, the first time i talked to a guy named chris, he was nice and informed me that my husbands visa had been approved, i said man you just made my day and millieum, so i hung up called wellmux to tell him the good news and he ask me to call them again, so i called again and talked to this horrible woman BJ who said its still pending,i said oh really becus i just talked to chris who told me its been approved, she said its under review as of yesterday i said i dont care about yesterday what about today lol, lets just say shes rude and not qualified for her job for sure, so then i called back a 3rd time and got chris again and he confimred what he said the first time  On april 29 i called again talked to sandy and she also confirmed again and his visa arrived april 29. Yes we are in the process of makeing plans for his comeing, i tell you guys for something that moved so slow for so long is now moveing very fastttttt lol  I got a feeling Hotguy is nextttttt!!! Thank God this is over, the stress has just lifted from us just like that goneeeeee. Happy Days are here , behind every cloud is a silver lineing where the sun will one day shine thru again for us all so for those of you still waiting hold on your visa will come. I pray for all those still waiting. Pat

Treehugger, I'm not sure why people limit themseves to once a week calling. I called DOS more than once a week while on AP. I don't think it has an adverse effect. If it makes you feel a little better and doesn't cost you an arm and a leg in international calling fees, I say you should feel free to bump it up to more than once per week for sure!

I called them daily like when I was at the NVC

Hmmm, because I don't think calling every day actually achieves anything. The only time I called two days in a row was the day the embassy told me my application was suspended (with no other info) so I called DOS to see what they could tell me. I got the most helpful lady ever, so was so nice and as informative as she could be, saying that they were waiting for several agencies to get back to them (although she said that it looked like I'd be getting my visa in the near future, seven weeks since that call I'm still waiting!). She also said that I could call back at any time because they had more info than the embassy.

I decided to call back the next day, and the woman who answered was the exact opposite, told me off for calling again even though I told her that her colleague said I was welcome to, and she barely let me speak, and then SHE ended the conversation. Since then I've limited myself to weekly updates...

That's a good question and, what if as a USC, you're with your spouse - I was picturing going in the Immigrant line at POE with him. What are they gonna do, tell me to go somewhere else? I'm so worried about POE (and we don't even have a date of course). But my husband doesn't speak English (French or Arabic, a little Spanish)...they would have people who speak other languages, right??

Yes, if the spouse goes with, then usually the immigration officers will let the immigrant go through the USC line. but i am not goin to be with him. but i called Dulles airport and they saidhe goes thru immigrant line. thanks for all the help and congrats. just 4 more days til he comes! and tomorrow i finally get to see my 3 yr old after more than 1 yr!!! Allahke shukar. Good luck to all of u. hope to reunite with u guys in usa!
