Update :-

OK guys i just got an Email from the embassy .They asked me to provide them a new police record .I tried to call them several times to make sure but they did not answer the phone .I sent them an Email back and i asked them if they want me to send a new medical exam with the police record '' I told them its already expired '' .They sent me an Email back and they said '' Please provide us with the police certificate along with the medical examination '' if its already expired ''

So it sound like good news for me .At least i know that they are working on it and its not collecting dust on someone's desk .

But i really don't know if i did wrong by asking them about the medical exam .As a matter of fact i don't want to wait a few weeks till they call me or till they send me an Email when they will find out that i have to redo it .And i really don't want to redo it in USA cause its going to cost a lot of money .

Good luck everyone .

Have a nice blessed day all .

Crossing my fingers for you Hot Guy!! .... I think you did the right thing to inquire about the medical now. I am sure they would have requested it and it would have delayed things again.

Its better to be proactive with as much as possible.

This has been a marathon for you guys -- I hope this is the finish line!!!

Good Luck

Malarie

Hey how long is your police report good for .I guess will will have to have a new one too ,when the time comes. because our is already 7 months old.and our file is still in sweden.By the time they finish with it and send it to Iraq our police report will probably have expired. When i know it has made it to Iraq i will order another report.grrrrrr the wheels of our government turn so slow.I feel like im gonna be at this still in 2011.It makes me sad.I wonder if we would be better getting married and refiling in Iraq.I just dont have any idea how i could go to Iraq and get married.I just dont know what to do from one day to the next.

Hi Hot Guy,

Congratulations on your progress! This has been an extremely active week. Good catch on the expiring medical exam. I don't think you'd have the option to 'redo it in USA' but would instead end up with another request from the embassy and a corresponding delay. We have to make use of timesavers whenever we can when dealing with the government... You are getting so CLOSE, I can feel it! So exciting!!!

Does anyone know if Alen can apply for refugee if he is my fiancee. Mabe on humanitarian grounds even though he had to return to Iraq? Well good luck. Got ya in my prayers. innocent.gif

Here's a USCIS Fact Sheet regarding Iraqi Refugee Processing: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextchannel=68439c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD&vgnextoid=df4c47c9de5ba110VgnVCM1000004718190aRCRD

Bridget, I can tell your love is strong and true. I know because where ever Pman is, that's where I want to be too, no matter how wacky the locale . However, please -- I implore you to stay out of Iraq. I'd much rather explore ways to get Alen out than getting you in there. Here's the travel advisory warning against travel to Iraq at this time: http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/tw/tw_921.html

CONGRATS!!! I really hope it's the visa!!! You two deserve it after all you've been through!! You're in our prayers.

Thank you! :) I really hope so. That this is it. My fiance even got the email that he will be

hearing from them soon.

Thank you for all your well wishes. I did not call DOS today since I got the wonderful email

from the consulate. I just hope that nothing of ours expired. I checked with my fiance and

we still have a few months on the documents. They even have our 2009 taxes so, I could not think

of anything else.

Weekly DOS Update Time!

Just now I got a very nice woman on the phone. I expressed my frustration at the 4 months, 3 weeks. SHe said she understood the hardship and frustration. SHe said that it's normal to see a case take several months for administrative processing, but she also said that she could see that it's being worked on. I confirmed that the 'being worked on' was not just the embassy's request two weeks ago and she said, 'Correct, it's being worked on.' So I said, I know you can't share details, but if you were me, would you be hopeful? And she exclaimed 'Yes!'. Doesn't give me anything concrete, but was sure nice to hear!!

My email to the kind embassy immigration chief yesterday reminded her that it's been two weeks since her request from the US agencies on our case and stated that I'd be much obliged for her continued follow-up. It has not yielded a response.

Here's hoping!!

I just called the DOS too!!! However, unlike you, I got the most unhelpful specialist. I gave her my details, she kept me waiting a while, which I thought was a good sign, then all she could say was 'You're still pending'. When I asked her what the latest date-stamp was, she said 'well, you had your interview 22nd February'...I said 'No, I mean when was the last time it was looked at?' She answered that they're not obliged to date-stamp the case every time it's looked at, and whoever told me that was mistaken...I replied, 'That's strange every Friday when I call and ask they tell me that it was looked at last week etc'...'It's still pending'. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

It's so unfair - I honestly believe that we have a right to some basic information about OUR application and OUR data. I've a good mind to call again and see if I get someone a little friendlier and more helpful within the confines of what they can say.

Oops, nearly forgot to say I hope you get a response to that email soon, as well of course as the all-important email telling you that the visa is ready!!!
