Whatznext- I am so very sorry. How horrible. I am completely speechless. That they let you sit and wait that long without any word is just inhumane. I am sorry about what is happening to you. I can't even begin to imagine that agony you have been going through. What a very helpless feeling. This is just plain crazy and perhaps we should start lobbying for some changes in the system. I can't believe he went that long without his passport. I brought this up because my SO is worried about being in that country without his passport. He does not want to be kicked out of the country and is trying so hard to do everything on the up and up...

I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

I am writing one more letter today to a different Senator I am also sending a copy of every document. The other senator office has been a joke LOL they send me news that is over a year old. Joe I hope you get a great news soon have you talked to DOS lately???

Thanks- yes, I call DOS every couple of days to see if anything new. All they say is still showing that AP is in still in progress at the embassy (Bogota Colombia). They just see in the notes the couple of times my Congressman's office sent emails, and the one time my Senator's office also sent. Otherwise, nothing updated beyond that. I send emails to the embassy directly about once every 1-2 weeks, and they just respond with "AP still in process". I wish someone could at least look at my case to assure me it is still being worked on... my fear is that it is either just burried somewhere on someone's desk, or whatever.... Or, that they will end up sending it back to the U.S. at some point, after months and months of waiting and waiting, like what unfortunately happened in your case... I just wish there was more I could do....

Joe-I am in complete agreement with you. I have never felt so helpless. Someone else has my "life" in their hands. I wish there was a way to make sure things were actually being done and active; and not just being lost in a pile somewhere. That is my fear as well.

Every time I call the DOS or email the Embassy, I get the standard answer. One lady at the DOS told me that it takes a while.. and this was after 6 months. Frustrating when other people have a week of AP.

Keep hanging in there. Whatznext, my prayers are with you. Wish there was more you could do. Sounds like the places/resources you have tried have all been disappointing. You have had NO news as to what is going on? I am sorry. That must be so hard. Riding the waves is hard- all those ups and downs. I pray you reach the shoreline soon.

Peace.

ah. the longing....

I don't want to say guys .I'm trying to give you hope but in fact i don't have any even for my self .

I hit 8 months of AP last week .and it really sucks and hurts so much .

I don't know to do every time i call DOS they say the case is still pending AP . and sometimes they say its pending in Egypt and they are not doing anything about it in USA so its up to them now .and when i call the embassy in Cairo they say its pending AP.

As what Joe says before maybe they will put me under AP till i hit 10 months of AP '' i think they wait that long before they send it back to USA '' and then they will send my case back to USA . :(

Nothing's impossible . Nothing's unreachable .When I am weary you make me stronger

This love is beautiful .So unforgettable . I feel no winter cold when we are together .

Will you stand by me ?!!!Hold on and never let me go .

Will you stand by me?!! With you i know i belong . When the story gets told .

When day turns into night .I look into your eyes . I see my future now .All the world and its wonder

This love wont fade away. And through the hardest days . I will never question us .You are the reason my only reason.

I'm blessed to find what i need in a world loosing hope. you are my only believe .

You make things right every time after time.....

Will you stand by me ?!!!

I love you so much and i miss you so much more .

Good news! My fiance received a phone call to pick up his visa last week. The visa was available the same day on 11/20/09. We were in AP for 25 days! The worst 25 days of our lives.

My heart goes out to all of you still waiting.

Thank you all for posting in this forum. It kept us informed and sane through this process!

I called DOS and they told me that my case is pending in Cairo and they are not doing anything about it .even when i called the embassy the guy there says yeah its pending in Cairo .so what are they doing all that long ?!!

I wonder why they make it hard like that .can't they say sorry we can not give you the visa .it would be so much better than waiting for it over than 8 months and then nothing .

I hope that we both will hear good news soon .

Hot Guy: Please hang in there and have faith that it is all in God's Hands. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and everyone else waiting. I agree, that if the visa were going to be denied, that you would think that they would just tell you. Like others have said, maybe this wait is a good thing, and they are just finishing the process in Cairo, inhsaallah. I don't know what they do once it is back at the embassy and the AP is finished in Washington DC, but maybe it is just a final review of everything, and maybe they are just slow in Cairo. Do you know how long it has been back there? Please don't let go of hope. :star:

The Amman embassy recieved my fiance's passport on November 18th (they requested it) This morning I recieved this beautiful email from them.:dance:

Dear Elizabeth:

The visa will be ready within few days and the passport will be delivered to Aramex services.
