Address field on I-129F; format question

My fiancee is from Croatia and, on the I-129F field where it asks for address as Number, Street, this raises a formatting problem.

Addresses in Croatia are formatted like this: Street, House number. For example: Streeta 205. Putting her address as 205 Streeta wouldn't mean much of anything in Croatia.

On all the other forms, such as G-325a, it actally asked for Address (Street and Number) where, for her, I put Streeta 205, and for me, 352 Something Road.

For this I-129F, however, what format should I use? I'm leaning toward Streeta 205, since it's the format I've been using on everything else, and it'd be weird and technically incorrect to change it.

What should I do?

You always have the option to put "SEE ATTACHED" and then put the proper format on a separate sheet of paper...

YMMV

I'm not sure I want to do that. I might attach a supplementary sheet with more elaboration of the circumstances under which we met, as well as including a note about the address thing. Is it acceptable to put a small post-it note that says see attached? I have a great fear of straying too far from the original forms or leaving any opportunity for someone to be stupid.

You can answer more than one "question" on the supplement page. You just indicate on the supplement something like Part 1, Question 5. Part I, Question 14., etc.....

If you note the attachment on the form itself, as noted above, and then list the question # and answer in it's proper format there will be a lot less confusion. Many people have 'different' addresses and this is what they do.

I would have a lot more fear of putting a post it note, that could easily be misplaced with all the hands on your documents, getting lost. ;)

good luck whatever you choose.

That's what I'll do, though I won't be putting SEE SUPPLEMENT anywhere on the form. I'll note that the supplement is included in my table of contents, however.

I understand the concerns about a post-it but may do it anyway, if it falls off, I still have the supplement referenced in the table of contents and will label the sections properly.

EDIT: How about, on the form, Streeta 205 [sEE SUPPLEMENT] ?

I did and I don't see why not, you yourself wanted to make this "idiot proof"... relying solely on a TOC (which they may or may not read) and a post it note is not in my definition of "idiot proof". But again, this is your petition and you can do it any way you desire.

You need to note that the proper answer/format to any particular question is on the supplemental sheet and the place to do that is on the form itself. They're not just going to go through your paperwork looking for the right answer. This is all clearly stated in the GUIDES.

Okay, understood. In that case, then, is Streeta 205 [sEE SUPPLEMENT] a good compromise?

Since it is your application there is no need for a compromise.... You simply need to decide how you want to clearly indicate the answer you want them to have. If you think the above is the clearest way then go with it

Just write it exactly as you would if you mailed her a letter.

Every country is different. They don't sweat that.

In Jamaica, they don't have any street addresses. No issues for us.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip
