I was not saying you are haraam - no just stating that saying something is haraam when it is not clearly defined in the Quran is/can be considered a sin. And I am not going to agrue with you ... but as I said before people should not listen to everything they read online. But best to ask our local imam and follow up with your own research.

And Sunnipath is mainly Shalafi and Hanafi ... not everyone follows these schools of thoughts.

And I would like to add that people would do themselves and the world a favour if they stopped listening to these sites but actually got down and dirty with FIQH. There are several books out there and courses at the majids. All the answers lay here!

I think whether its haram or not... its a personal effort to do what Allah loves more... meaning that even if its not haram theres thawab in doing thikr than listening to a song in ur free time ... theres more thawab in reading quran than listening to a song.... just glaring at Allahs creation even is more of thawab than listening to music..... dont occupy urself with the exact rule on it; u know what u re here for n u know u shud be gaining thawab as much as u can... u work on that goal in life with the means that Allah has given u. Take it easy on ur self n do it in baby steps if u decide u dont want to listen to them anymore n if u do; as i said give Allah time too and always remember Allah gives rewards for any struggle u have and HE IS THE MOST MERCIFUL :D

I used to listen to music non-stop then i started balancing; then eventually the good weighed out the music n other stuff. i listen to anasheed mainly but i might listen to a couple of em with music -but they have to be clean n have a msg- but im usually not happy that i did... my two cents too lol
