Just curious here if anyone knows. I am guaranteed a job in the US. At the embassy interview, if I mention this too them, does it help your case in anyway or not make a difference?

i don't think it will make a difference. a k-1 is a fiance visa, i doubt the question will come up. just have all your paperwork done + supporting evidence & you shouldn't have any problems. do you have an interview date yet?

goodluck!

Nope, not yet. Still waiting on the NOA2. The job I have is at the same place my fiance works.

The topic may or may not come up during the interview - if it does, I cant imagine how it could hurt (or help) your case to tell them.

I believe in the packet three that london sends, one of the forms they tell you to download ask about employment, what you will do when you get over there etc etc; , in my personal opinion the fact you will be supporting yourself would be a benefit, I mean, they will expect you to work eventually.

cool congrats on the job. i wouldn't worry to much about the interview & trying to impress the consul officer w/ the job. from our experience & what i've read of others, they just want the paperwork complete + evidence of the relationship.

I wouldn't mention it unless directly asked. It could look like you have other motivations than a bona fide relationship. I don't see how it would help at all.

I tend to agree with pushbrk just because you never know how things will be perceived. Didn't you have a previous K1 as well? Perhaps this would throw up another red flag. ;)

On the other side, it was actually requested by the NZ Consulate that Russell brings his CV/Resume and any prospects of employment to the interview even though i'm well over the 125%. So, who knows really.

When you fill out the DS 156 it will ask you if you intend to work and where when you get to the US.

Fill it in and be honest.

Personnally I'd say it was a plus as relationships lacking $s don't seem to work out as well as ones not having to worry about where the next meal comes from.

Yes, certainly (if asked in writing) provide the information about any job you've accepted or have a firm plan to do but no need to mention it. Keep it in the back pocket to use if needed.

Frankly, it's unlikely to make any difference coming from the UK. Mostly I'm writing for the other readers.
