Help! I-134 and D-156 Question 22...how do you fill out the recent version?

Hey everyone! My husband was trying to fill out his D-156 today, but question number 22 on the most recent version, "When do you intend to arrive in the US?", only allows space for an expected date. Of course we don't know when he will arrive as he doesn't even know his interview appointment info. It does not allow space to type letters, just a date. We thought to attach a sheet of paper for the answer, "when the visa is issued". Do you think that is the right way to go about filling it out?

Also, on my I-134, I'm thinking to make a cover letter and a letter of intent explaining my father as a backup co-signer. He checked "do not intend to make specific financial contributions", thinking that he does not have knowledge right now as to specifics, just that he can provide general financial support in case I can't. What is your opinion as to whether this is correct or not? thanks so much!

My husband filled out an I-134 for our DIL. After checking "do not intend..." he wrote "I fully expect that my son, a recent college graduate and USMC veteran, will be able to adequately provide financially for his wife; however, I am willing and able to provide a safety net for her."
