BTW...I just read its 47% humidity ...EWWW!!! Its not even noon yet! YUCK... I do NOT miss Egypt in the summer!

It is 75% where I am at LOL!

Loved the cam thou ... if you watch it ong enough surely find someone doing something they shouldn't be LOL! I know if they had a cam here at the momumnets 100% sure within 15m you find a guy peeing, woman beating her kids or couple touchy feely business LOL!

Well, I think "live" is a relative term here..... I've been checking that cam all morning and the time stamp as well as the weather stats have not changed one bit. I'm calling bogus! Maybe not, but like I said..... none of the stats have changed - including the time over the last 4 hours.

On the website if you scroll down and read Odds and Ends they state:

We try to be "live" on a 24/7 basis, but there will be times when the system goes down. At those times we will substitute a recent static image in the frame until things are working properly again. Like everybody else in Cairo, we were affected by the recent cable cuts. We sometimes have issues with power and have to shut down until power is restored. The Giza Governorate has been upgrading telephone lines and we may temporarily loose our line from time to time. Despite these problems, the camera has reminded live over 98% of the time since it first went on the air in 2005. Also, you may hit the site when it's pitch dark here in Cairo and there does not seem to be a lot happening on our black screen. However, we've had many interesting image captures of meteors, setting planets, the moon, satellites, airplane lights and even fires during the nightime period. Watching the Pyramids Plateau at any hour of the day and night can have its surprises - check out our image galleries to see what I mean.

75%!!!!!! I would pass out...lol. I'm in the desert in AZ and its so dry here ... I couldn't handle the humidty.

Well I can't tell if the picture looks the same as the day I posted this or if it's more dusty there. I don't know if that's because the cam is so far away on top of a hotel pointed towards the pyramids. Most of the archived photos show the spectaculars of the changing light and night sky.

One thing though the website is updated with the news article about the Pyramid's Security updates.

I also discovered that this website has a forum if you take time to explore it more.

If nothing else at least you get the general current time, day, and temperature there.

also there was a live cam in a reserve in africa on here earlier under africacam or something like that it is live a alot of fun watching the animals come to the watering hole , we saw elephants, zebra, monkeys, giraffees it was really neat

I don't think you can zoom it. I think it's like a regular web cam and it just keeps and eye on the pyramids and the enormous night sky around it.

Oooooooh! It is working! I just checked it and the sun has just set there and the light barely shows the outline of the pyramids. How nice!
