I'm sure this has been asked a thousand times before but it seems like the first time around for AOS we went early for the biometrics. We just had to have the appointment letter but going early was okay. Is this true? Can I do this with biometrics for the I-751?

Obviously, it will depend on the office and workload.

I have a wife and three kids. They scheduled the Biometrics on two different days. We showed them the Appointment letters and we were all in and out and done with on the first day. Yeah! If Atlanta is anything like Denver, they aren't really all that busy...

Good Luck, you might win too!

I've only seen a couple cases where people were denied doing early biometrics doing a walkin. LOTS haven't had any problems doing so.

Some say Wednesday is "walkin day"

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

Just got off the phone with a friend who "tried" it in Atlanta and was told "We do not do that anymore". Not sure if it is worth the chance but if I'm in tha area I might just give it a go.

In San Antonio - we were told (because I asked) that we could have gone earlier - as long as we had our appointment letter.. (of course, different offices may have differing policies)..

Yesterday we were in the area of the office for biometrics and I decied to take a chance and head on over. We arrived at 4pm and the doors close at 3:45 so it did not happen yesterday. The guard was outside and said it would be no problem to come back early but suggested we do it on days that were not too busy. Wednesday and Saturday between 2:30p and 3:00p. So, today we are going back. Might as well knock it out early. One of the nicest people I've ever dealt with at USCIS.

Biometrics done! We went early and it took about 15 minutes. Could not have been a more pleasant experience. I'm shocked. Our original appointment was 8/23 and we just got it out of the way.

We did the same thing for my son. I received my BIO letter but he didnt, so I just took him with us and the guy outside got his boss and they said no problem.

We were in and out in 15 mins too.

Really great experience

I believe that the USCIS sub-contracts the Biometrics. Not sure, but that might explain it!

I'm about 70 miles from the office, and hate going to Denver, so I'd never risk going early. The Interviewing Officer wrote on our Appointment papers that they should do the Biometrics the same day during the AOS interview. (Interview was scheduled before the Biometrics.) I thought that was nice of the USCIS, and it was no problem to do them early.

Then as I posted above, for the I-751 the appointments were scheduled for two different days. Again no problem, all done.

Cool!

I showed up to my biometrics appointment 30 minutes before my appointment time.

The security dudes wouldn't let me into the building until 15 minutes before my appointment time.

It really does come down to the policies of each individual office.

The officer was super nice and remembered us from the day before. He told us the best times/days to come back and going early would be no problem. Today I talked with a nicely dressed man who I assume was in charge and he said that in the past year things have been moving very slow. When he started there they were doing biometrics for about 500 people a day. Now a high number would be closer to 300. He believes the increase in fees has caused a lot of people to put off filing the forms because they cannot afford to pay more money. Interesting!

Same thing happened to us we got there 1hour early and the security guard looks at the appoinment and says what do we have here 2 and 3pm well i dont know about the 3 but come back in 30mins. We came back and the guard was like how many of you then said wait here i need to check this out. He goes to a door just off to the side and asks if they got time to do a family. THe lady looks at the appointment letter and says they have an appointment for today so let them thru. Duh.

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering too, if I can do the same thing when I get my biometrics letter, especially since the ASC is out-of-town/somewhat long distance for me. Can I go early (meaning a few days, not a few hours), as long as I have that biometrics letter? Should I call the ASC ahead of time, to see if they can do this, or should I just go there and hope that they accept me early when I get there?

Has anyone ever gone a few days earlier for the I-751 biometrics and been successful at it?

Ant

I think as long as you have your appointment letter, then going early is okay. Of course some offices are going to be picky about things, but most seem to welcome you if they are not busy. I think explaining about long drives or in the area already for other things might help.

It is worth a try.
