Both of my husband and I received the interview DEschedule letters yesterday:(. We have no idea about why and when we'll receive new interview letters. This is in Denver DO. Did anyone have similar experience? How long does it take to receive the new interview letter? Thanks.

Ok, I finaly got to the bottom of the problem!!! The local rep. wasnt able to do anything for me, the only one who was able to figure out what was going on was senator Durbin's office! Within a week of my request for assistance I got a letter in the mail from the senator. In there was as well a copy of an immigration letter that suposedly was sent to me about 3 months ago. In that letter the immigration were telling me that on the last page instead of typing my name I am suposed to sign my name. For that reason they have returned my whole package on the same day that they've gotten it. I NEVER RECEIVED IT!!!! What pisses me off is that I made so many calls to the immigration and no one was able to tell me that my package was returned!!! They just wanted me to wait for this and wait for that and just keep on waiting till the end of time!!!! So it took me 3 months and a help from a senator to finaly realize what the problem is!!!!!!!!!!

The service request I made with the immigration is still with no answer and I am not going to even wait for it!!!

As you realize I have to reapply all over again! What makes me even angrier is the fact that my package with all of mine and my husband's personal info is who knows where!!!! I am going to go the post office and let out all of my frustration on them, cause they deserve it!!! I am sick to death of people who dont their jobs and to me most of the post office people fall under that category!!!

Anyway, I want to wish luck to everybody on this tread and I want to ask you to please take me of the time line list, since when I reapply I will have another date!!! That's it!

I assume it's not an RFE but they want you to make the correction and send everything back as new.

I would be angry too and while the post offfice is at least partially to blame I think USCIS definately dropped the ball by not giving you this information when you called.

Sorry to hear about all of this...hopefully your case will move fast once you re-send the package.

Good Luck.

Dave

Ilona it's good you final got a reply. That is just sickening to hear. They have no clue what is going on. They lack communication and we end up suffering for it. I am so sorry that you have to go through this horrible nightmare.

Update on my file

So I have emailed the Senators office about a week ago, no reply . I asked the guy a couple of questions. Still not heard back from him. So I emailed him again yesterday. Nothing. Now I'm getting pretty upset with these monkeys. I hate…...HATE...HATE people who cannot bloody well communicate. SO I emailed another person in the department and she states that the guy has been out of the office for a couple of days and will get back to me. We'll see. Apparently it takes longer than a week to find out what my status is, because they have to get information from Nebraska...cough…bullsh??...cough. They have till tomorrow to get me my information, and then onwards to the top I go. There is way too much bureaucratic nonsense just to get a damn status update on MY FILE. I have a lot of time on my hands right now and will start emailing directors and supervisors pretty soon.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhh feel better now ;) Ilona your story got me all upset with these people :P

Hi guys-

We just got back from Marina's oath ceremony and we now have 2 new US Citizens in our family! Ours was a "2 for 1" deal as Carina automatically became a citizen as soon as Marina did.

We were of course a little nervous about the traffic ticket thing but when Marina got up there and mentioned it they just asked "have you been arrested?" and since her answer was no she was told to check the box that way too. Nice to see that being honest actually has it's rewards sometimes.

The ceremony itself was about 10 minutes long, however we waited in line from 11:30am to 1:00pm. They also had trouble finding a seat for me but finally I got one right up front before the judge came in. There were about 140 people being naturalized, and about 50 guests.

We stopped by social security on the way home and had Marina's card updated, and will go apply for passports on Saturday.

I can't believe this journey is actually over, and I am very proud of my wife and daughter...two of America's newest citizens!

Thanks to all on this site and especially those in this thread whom I wish the best of luck for the rest of the way.

Dave

Thank you!! The relief of being done is a great feeling.

I will still be around to help and am looking forward to seeing everyone in this thread finally done with USCIS...it's the least I can do for my fellow VJers who have been like a second family for the past 4 years!

Good Luck!

My wife had biometrics today. We were the only people there this afternoon and only the 2nd biometrics appointment of the day. Hopefully that's a good sign that the interview will be soon. We sat and chatted with the security guard for about 20 minutes. He was extremely helpful in explaining what the interview will be like to calm my wife's nerves. It was nice to finally have a positive experience and see a friendly face in this process.
