I was just wondering when I should depart from the UK once I get the green light from the London embassy? I mean, I have 6 months from when the K1 is issued to get my ####### over there, right? And ideally (for financial reasons apart from anything else) I'd like to take advantage of that time by working my butt off over here, thus making my life a whole lot easier once over there.

But if, say, I choose to leave at a later date (say 5 months after approval) does this have any impact on the K1's "life" once Stateside? For instance, lets just say I go through JFK as my POE, and get that EAD stamp that they issue. That stamp is valid only "until the K1 expires" right? So if I come in later, does that eat away at the initial 6 months? Or do they give you a set amount of time at the POE irrespective of when you left the UK?

This make any sense!!??

Damian, it makes sense :)

Nope. As I have read tons of times here, within the 6 month bracket you're good to go when ready. Once stateside, you have within 90 days as per the conditions.

Once you enter on the K1 within 6 months, it has no 'value' or time restrictions anymore... your I-94 (received upon entry) gives you 90 days in which to marry.

That's correct.

Your K1 visa is only good for entrance into the US and you have 6 months from the time it was issued to use it. Once you enter the US, it's no longer valid. At the airport you will receive an I-94 which will allow you to stay legally in the US for 90 days.
