is there someone that can purchase his ticket here with a credit card and then when he gets here he can pay them back. Kamal's brother in San Deigo bought his ticket online and that was how he got here. Its high season now in Morocco and tickets to and from are going to be very expensive! Good luck in whatever you both decide to do.

Are you picking him up at JFK? I'm sorry, I don't know where you are...

But perhaps he could buy his ticket from Casa to Frankfurt. Then you could by the ticket from Frankfurt to JFK. Is that a possibility?

I would see if you can get him to JFK or IAD and then you buy a ticket stateside from there to Portland. It could end up costing a lot less that way. A little more coordination needed but it could work. Besides he will have to connect in the US somewhere - meaning he has to pick up his bags and go through customs and then check back in, so it wouldn't make things any more difficult.

Hey everyone :star: I'm a newbie and jumping right in :D

It's absolutely right that you cannot send money out of Morocco. I remember reading that way back when I went there as a tourist - I read it in the guidebooks (Frommers, Fodors). And now I'm reading it on other sites. (I think I read it on the Dept of State Morocco travel page??) But yes, taking money out of Morocco is strictly prohibited

When my fiance gave me the money for my rings (I bought them here), he changed it to dollars there (through a friend) and i brought it back with me on my last visit. I was even worried that I would be questioned at the airport, leaving with that large amount of cash, but it seemed fine. Then again, I'm not Moroccan and am considered a "tourist".(I could always say it's leftover cash from what I brought with me) But I'm wondering how he's going to bring money with him when he comes here *sigh*......

As i said before this was same rule ahmed told me over a year ago money only can go to school here, and at the airport they ask how much money u take back, for me as it was i wasnt takeing any of their money and very little of my own because i knew once i hit jfk i had bank card. I agree how far can he get with his own money, then u pick up rest...or someone there help get the ticket however u choose then pay them back after he is here. Or someone you know has credit card (with this much limit) buy here let him pick up airport then pay back this person
