oh well... Holidays are holidays. I just wish there was a way around it. Guys, my friend in GA said there's an immigration freeze til December. I hope not. But is this true?

That's why people, immigration freeze or not you need to lower your expectations a bit. The approvals for July are good but it can add up to dissapointments when December rolls along and USCIS slacks off. My expectation for NOA2 is January around the 7th to the 30th, low expectation I know but it's my way of not being broken hearted when I dun get NOA2 in mid December.

But that's just me, hehehehe

PM me for any AP or AR relating to the NBI

It's never easy to tell if there will be a slow down... people say the same thing about summer vacation... and you can not reference last year because both service centers were still dealing with a huge influx of petitions at the time or previous years because so much has changed since last summer.

If you've filled out your timelines, then your estimated adjutication dates are as close and reliable a date as you're going to get.

Let's all hope it picks up instead! ;)

I know what you mean Fred. It's your way of protecting your morale and maybe we should all do the same. I Feel bad that we have to go through all these.

Fred: I think I made you crack the last two times... It's someone elses job this time, there is some doubt about if the online sites are updating anyway, especially at VSC, maybe in a few days I'll test your willpower heheh. You are getting awfully close to breaking 200 on igor's too, I wonder if you'll hit 199 before you hit day 100.

HelloWorld8: I'm choosing to view those dates as speeding up the process... everyone likes a day off, they improve morale... of course thanksgiving is probably two days off before a weekend... so yeah, that one will slow things a bit... but that is the price we have to pay for turkey... Anyway, the same holidays existed around this time last year, and according to igor's was one of the busiest times for approvals too. I don't think it matters much that there was a big influx of approvals, the service centers are always working with a back log, there are always more petitions to work on, no one gets to twiddle their thumbs for long.

HappyDancer: Can you provide more information on that? I looked on google for more information but all I found was some articles that *might* have been mis-interpretted but were talking about events of last december 2007, so maybe someone forgot to check the dates? Either way it seems unlikely that it'd matter for K visa's, for most forms of immigration to the US there are a multitude of limitations and quota's, K visa's aren't subjected to the same kinds of limits...

This seems like a good place to point out that I'm pretty much just expressing an opinion here, and I could be wrong about anything and everything here... also fred, you may have received a NOA2 already that got lost in the mail... maybe you should check the USCIS site real quick... just to be safe.

Fred will stick to his "Im not going to check till the 7th of December" till someone else in August gets approved and then he will be there with bells on.... Besides I have been stronger then you Fred, I have not even logged into the USCIS Site once since we started this process....

Gemmie - Something for you to consider, I graduated Uni last year (October to be exact) and then started jet setting around the world. My graduation ceremony was held in March this year (stupid but that is what happens in Aus) however I missed it because I was living in Reading at the time. Most of me couldn't care, however there is a small part of me that looks and goes, I wish I had done it. I wouldn't go as far as regreting it, especially because of the experiences I had in the UK, but it does make me a little sad that I never got to wear that silly hat.

Fred - I am sorry that you had a fight with you other half over the weekend, I am glad it was a small thing that could be solved. Though I must admit I have never seen fighting as a healthy part of a relationship, but then Chris and I have never actually had a fight.... *touches the desk firmly*

Helloworld08 - I am not too sure that those holidays will slow the visa process down too much, lets face it, if they slow down its more work for them. Plus the US doesn't put as much time off into Xmas, alot have the time they are allotted and use their holidays in the summer... But I have pretty much joined Fred's boat, I won't have my NOA2 till Jan, which annoys me because I have to admit i wont be going home till March or even April (something that I am trying not to do in my head) but on the very least I'll be able to save some more cash....

HD - My friend I love you dearly, but you have to stop listening to people who are telling you ugly things that is going to make you stress about the process! Unless it comes from the horse's mouth so to say disregard it as ####### and nonsense....

Shan - I hope your flight goes well and your love is just as excited as you are (which i have no doubt of lol) And you right the wait will be so much shorter together, I doubt the pair of you will even really think about it.... I hope you feel better soon.

shefellfromheaven - We really are a family here in August, with all our bits and bobs, I think we all lucked out to find such a chatty, support group who can put up 2 and a half pages of thread for me to reply to in the morning....

Cuchita - I agree, following the heart will guide you well, sadly there are times where the head much get involved so we don't all get blindsided by love.

I am personally hoping for some success this week, Chris has seemingly recovered from his bed ridden sickness of the last week, and no longer has a car that could be written off to visit USCIS so we might actually make it there this week. The plan was to visit them today to drop off the paper work he filled in and try for another appointment (I really feel I have been reading/writting this story for the last 3 weeks....) so we are hoping that things go well. I have banned him from any tuesday appointments they make for him as these don't seem to work and are serious on the bad luck scale... So no go for that lol.

But on the positive CSC and VSC both seem to have moved into July, we have moved down 20 places on Igor's and Chris is here in only 38 days, things are looking good for this week :)
