Oh well... Everyone is back on the route of discussing things when they get there. Honestly, I am a little happy myself when I found out that the standard wait time for the EAD is about 3 months. I have been working for the past 5 years - with no break- and I am slowly feeling like I am on the verge of burning out. So this whole wedding and K1 stuff is a good reason for me to have a break. Although, should our finances be good and we decide I would be better off at home, then I would not have any problems with it. We want to have a baby the soonest possible time too so we have better chances at it with everyday practice. :D

On the NOA2, I am thankfully a little off of that obsession for now. I will probably check again at the end of October. And them sometime towards the end of November. Here in the Philippines, I have noticed, NOA2s received at approximately 3 months for VSC and 4-5 months for CSC. So I am hoping, mine would come at around end of November.

I just got home from the jeweller. My contact offered me a real good deal on the wedding rings and weddings jewelry. 3-5 months to pay, lifetime warranty, and free maintenance cleaning should we feel the need to do so. Me and my SO have our own design and we are so thrilled waiting for the finished product!

I get to choose the diamonds that they would use and it only takes them about 2-3 weeks to get the whole package done! I swear I was drooling over the samples she showed me. LOL

I missed everyone! How's everybody?

I just submitted my I-129F petition to Vermont yesterday via DHL. Waiting for proof of receipt today. :) I thought I'd get the conversation started for those joining me on the journey this month. I look forward to sharing stories along the way.

My fiance is Indian and resides in Bangalore. We got engaged on 7/30/08 and I just returned from India on Monday. This site has been really fantastic in helping me feel confident that I can do this process on my own and with the great assistance and advice of the community here.

Best of luck to all filing in August. Here we go and may it be a smooth ride for all.

-Mark

Guys,

It’s great to know that July filer are starting to receive their NOA2’s, I have 23 days before I leave for Pakistan to go and visit my better half. :) I really hope a miracle occurs and I receive my NOA2 before I leave, so I can submit all the paper work before I leave. This will help my cut down on wait time for Interview.

It would really be a shame if I receive my NOA2 in mail right after I leave for Pakistan :bonk: because I will be gone for almost 2 months and that will be a waste of time because I won’t be able to submit my follow up paper work while I am away.

So let the count down being.

23 days till the trip.

Shan.

I have given it a serious thought and yes, I am planning on preparing all the paperwork and leaving it with my brother. However; I am still struggling with that idea because I won't have the full satasfaction until I put together the pakage with my own hands. I want to make sure that I have read every detailed and satasfied all requirements because it would be useless if the package goes out incomplete.

Therefore i am really praying that I recieve the package before I leave. If I don't, then i will try to find a comfort level with my brother and have him follow all the details closely.

But from what i have been reading on VJ, it seems like VSC is only getting slower and slower with our cases and i really shouldn't expect my package until early January.

Yeah, I don't know if it'll take until jan for your NOA2, but I doubt it'll happen in the next 23 days either, does your brother have the ability to scan or fax the documents to you? What would need to be filed after the NOA2 is received, I kind of thought at that point you don't file anything, but start making sure that all the necessary items the beneficiary needs are gathered (police certificates and stuff like that), it'd seem to me you'd just bring all your proof with you to pakistan as well as a copy of your original petition.

If you were lucky enough to get a NOA2 before going, would it be likely that the interview would be scheduled during your stay in pakistan?

I think most likely the NOA2 will show up while you are there, so I'd just make sure you have all you need to file, I guess a big question is on anything that may require an original signature. I guess I'm not familiar enough with the after NOA2 NVC foreign embassy section of the process.

Bah, no joy for me until an interview date is set, but depending on how things unfold that could be as early as january (late january though), but either way that's not too far off anymore.

I'm so sad that I haven't seen my fiance since the end of June :( But we have decided to take this time to really get to know each other.

Belive it or not, we all have a very unique opportunity here. In the majority of marriages, the biggest problem is lack of communication. After the initial "honeymoon" stage wears off, people realize that there are problems that have never been addressed. Add on top of that the cultural differences, and you can see where I'm going. However, because all of us have to be seperated, it gives us a chance to really get to know each other, and discuss any differences that may cause a problem in the future. My fiance an I talk every night, and sometimes we have those difficult discussions, but eventually we come to an agreement, and everything is ok. This strong communication will get us through even the toughest times in our marriage. I am thankful for this, and it gives me strength to get through this whole process.

On another note, I will be starting a better job in a couple of weeks. Hopefully I can save up some money to suprise my fiance for Thanksgiving. I found some really cheap tickets around that time. Keeping my fingers crossed XXXX

I also wanted to remind everyone that the States will be comming off of Daylight Savings time on November 2nd, which means our time will be going back an hour. Keep this in mind when making plans to talk to your SO.

Night.

Hi USBride,

I know exactly what you mean. Apart from the differences each of our cultures have, the distance makes it harder. Me and my SO just keep reminding each other that we have gone a long way and we have to give each other credit for all the good and bad times that make our bond stronger each time. It's not always the best of conversations, and true, due to the longing and pain of being so far from each other, we overlook the finer things in life which is where the whole relationship is based on: LOVE. Love, that has far more meaning than happy and wonderful times.

Me and my SO, talk everyday. If you can believe it, we even pray together on the phone. The whole experience is excruciatingly painful especially for a hardcore romantic like me. I try to live up to my faith that one blissful day, I would wake up each morning, having his face as the very first thing I see, sleep each night, having his arm around me and we will never be apart again. It just feels so good and so peaceful when we are together.

Oh yes... I can't wait for the day when I would hold him in my arms and we'll never be apart again. That being said, I would like to add that I would drop everything in a heartbeat if it means spending the rest of my life with him.
