Good morning all, look at that a page whilst I slept, you are all such busy little VJ posting beavers! LOL

As my mum keeps telling me, "if your relationship can survive this then it can survive anything" and I tend to agree with her, it's hard on all of us being so far from home and I know I'll be one of the first to ###### on a bad day or week, but remember, we still have their love and care from this far away and we must all have something very very special to be able to put everything about our lives on hold for 6 -12 months whilst things get sorted therefore the wait will be worth the reward.

Dani & Chris - Because I don't want you to feel left out in my super long post lol Good morning to both of you :) How are you both doing this week?

I say that and believe in your mum's phrase.

Our love is being tested, forged, and strengthen in this fire I call the I129F process.

I compare it to the forging of a sword!

Other than that we are doing well. Always talking for our plans for when we are together.

i cant stand not to look i have been looking stupid amounts of time since i got the number, David seems all calm and relaxed, good things come to those that wait blah blah blah lol,

i check email first to see if i got one from cris then i check uscis to see if they changed anything but forgot to email just turned into a bit of a uscis stalker.

i am excited bout getting the touches but others have had touches like it months ago so im under no illusion its all gonna happen tomorrow. Im fighting against so many other things as well as this process just like to see one of them put away so i can move onto next.

If i could just go see him, miss him sooooo bad,

Mine seems to have stayed around the same. Christmas Day at the earliest. :)

Wedding plans? To be perfectly honest, and hopefully I won't be judged for saying this...

I hold a lot of resentment against USCIS because they basically put us in the situation of having to get married or not be together at all (there was no way either of us could get a tourist or work visa)... we're toying with the idea of having a legal ceremony or signing papers within the 90 days to abide by the law, and then having the official ceremony (nice location, family, friends, honeymoon etc) when *I* feel that I want to be married by 100% choice. (Bill has always wanted to get married even before the immigration stuff lol)

Of course I love Bill with all my heart and I want to be with him, and that's why we're doing this. We've learned about each other over the past 5/6 years as friends, boyfriend/girlfriend and an engaged couple. If I have to sign legal papers to have US, then it's what I'll do...

What I'll count as my real wedding... I want something small and intimate, with close loved ones, and lots of flowers and candles. :) I want our "real" wedding to be natural and non-red-taped. Does that make sense? Not rushed into the 90 day limit to satisfy the government, and only when I'm 100% sure that it's because of me and not immigration.

I agree with you Gemmie.

Fred, stay good. It's comforting that we see a "normal" being in the August 08 group.

Didn't someone already try to turn this thread into some wedding dress (YAWN) thread... thankfully that blew over though...

I kind of view the process as something of a test, if you can survive that, it'd seem like your relationship should be able to withstand anything... but then you read the family changes and effects on immigration forum and realize that somehow, after spending all the time it takes to complete the process, relationships fall apart pretty quickly anyway. That being said I don't think that's typical and realizing that being seperated for the USCIS torture is a whole different deal than the issues you'll face once together... but that's more of a concern to people who have shorter internet relationships compared to those who somehow managed to go years without starting the process (and I admit... I'm one of those internet based meeting types with a relatively short relationship).

Anyway... back to ruining this thread discussing wedding related #######... originally the plan was a civil service in the US, she has little to no family here (no one really that close geographically or immediate family close) and most of my family is far enough away it's not easy to hang out (about a 2 day drive basically), some of the family doesn't get along etc, so I didn't think there'd be much point in any kind of ceremony... then we'd go back a year after marriage when presumably finances are better, and some actual planning/preparation can go into it, and have a wedding ceremony there for her family and relatives, a fairly big one of course (or whatever is really reasonable... that's quite a ways off at this point). I say that was the original plan because one of my sisters said she wanted to see the eternally single brother get married and something about packing up the bus full of relatives and driving down here... so OK, now we're up to a backyard bbq/wedding at least.... which is good, it gives my fiancee and family a chance to meet and get to know each other, and I don't get to see most of my family that often anyway... but the more I think about it, the more I feel like I should try to make even a small wedding fairly memorable... so by the time it actually happens who knows... I could still be paying on the first wedding when the second one is coming due (I kind of doubt it... but I remember when I thought the internet couldn't possibly have as much porn on it as people said... it did, and then some...).

This is why i can be good and not be too concerned about my papers, i have faith i will get that NOA2 soon, I will be seeing my SO soon. Also as you read my timeline or signature, if I can survive all that then 6 to 8 months is nothing. But hey it's still hard but you have to be strong!

Ok ok... Back to our wedding related theme. LOL

Our plan is to have a simple church "I do" with his relatives and mine in the US and some close friends then be off to our one week honeymoon (2009)! Where? I have no idea yet. And since we are looking at a wedding in church, I am now off to getting myself a wedding gown and our wedding bands. All should be ready when he gets here in the Philippines so have his say on things before we finalize it and get the work started after the holidays and have it ready by February-March timeframe. I am also going to take care of the invitations and giveaways as he is already taking care of the wedding preparation in the US. He will be the one playing thye bridezilla role. Hehehehe...

And come 2010 when we have at least gained some financial leverage, we will have a renewal of vows with my side of the family here in the Philippines. Honeymoon part 2 will be island hopping for at least two weeks enjoying the tropical breeze and and the sun and hopefully a baby when we go back to KY.

Ooohhhh, I can't wait!!!

Here is what we have done so far.

Our Wedding bands have been chosen.

The Church for our wedding location has been chosen.

The rest we talk about but mostly have decided to plan it together when we are together, so we can enjoy and share the planning process together.

We are doing what Gemmie is thinking of.

Heading down to a courthouse and doing the "I do" and sending it off to make USCIS happy and not come knocking on my door.

We then plan to have our ceremony in August, at this stage up in Maine. I already have my dress (well it's being made), my shoes and veil. I have asked my bridesmaids and think i have found their dresses as well. I know it wont be a big wedding but it will be enjoyable and creative, even more so because Chris has given me permission too do anything I want on one condition - the wedding cake is dark chocolate mudcake that looks like dark chocolate mud cake inside and out - something I can very much cope with :)

It will be fun, but we aren't booking anything on paper until my NOA2 has come through and I have schedualed my interview, if the Interview is in Jan will prob hold off booking until after that (Im not a keen waster or money) but if its going to be Feb we will have to seriously make a deposit somewhere so we don't lose out lol.

Maliciant this isnt a "boring" topic, nor is it taking over the whole thread :P it's just giving us chatter of exciting things we will get to do in the future :)
