I have B1/B2 visa and I would really love to go to the US on VWP. Thing is the Philippines is a high fraud countryand I know that the POE will be very iffy. Have been there twice now but that was originally on a business trip. Now I don't know if it's a good idea for me to do the VWP. What do you guys think?

The B2 is the tourist visa, you could give it a shot, but as Philippines, as you said, is high fraud, even if you have got lots of ties you are going to have a hard time getting in the door.

I wish you good luck with it if you give it a shot, I want to, but i dont have the $2500 if would cost me to never get to the desitination.

*sniff sniff* it is really sad. I remember when I left my honey last June, we were both crying at the security gates of the airport...

Tell me about it. This is the 9th time of breaking down at the security gate... I hate that place!! :( Bill makes me promise every time to be a good girl and get on the plane, and not to look back as I go through security. If I do, we both know I wouldn't be able to do it.

Luckily, my friends have all been waiting for me to get back to the UK (haven't seen most of them since June) and I have a lot of schoolwork to prepare for. I'm hoping it will be enough to distract myself until December. Then I'm going to try the POE again!! I know, I'm crazy...

Mara, it must be so hard living all of those miles away. I actually can't imagine not being able to visit the US for a year. Well done you for being so brave! I know you feel you have no other choice but in reality, everyone in this situation chooses to stay brave for the love they hold.

HD, it's a tough call whenever you try to get through POE, especially being as you're from the PI. Personally, I would get as much evidence as possible and take the risk. I was over the moon when I got over the border after all of the problems there. However, keep in mind that there is a chance you won't get through and that would be heartbreaking. It's all a big risk with big consequences either way. Let us know what you decide.

I hope people begin to recieve their NOA1's, those who haven't recieved it officially yet! Just remember, you're still an August filer and are in the pile.

I don't think you're supposed to get an email with touches. Just for the NOA.

Congrats anyway though, it all adds up to feeling relieved and encouraged. :)

Here's what I did for the check. Zoom it out as much as you can. Mine was pretty unreadable. I called up thebank and they read it out to me with mistakes. I was tensed for about 1/2 a day whether they had even filed for the right case. However, with zooming of the check and w/ the help of the bank, I was able to piece up the information. The key they told me was to look for the strokes on the numbers. Every number has a different stroke because they know that things become un readable when they scan it and they needed to have some distinction to tell out a 2 from a 5. Hope this helps.

I really like your suggestion Dilbert, Sadly Chris has the electronic check, if things went in our favour this week then we will have the real deal tonight.... if Chris ever comes home from work lol.

Looks like a few more June vermont filers got through this week, hopefully we arent far off, and maybe, just maybe, November, or maybe even October, will be our month to start the celebrations!

Gemmie,

Its encouragement that we are not "lost" in the system!

Im not expecting NOA2 with this touch, but its nice to know that "things" are moving "slowly" along.

I'm honestly not trying to put out anyones fireworks here or take away any hope, but it's very unlikely we'll be getting any NOA2s in November, and especially October. They still have to process most of June and all of July, which puts us in the December/January slot. I understand that we all need lots of hope and optimism with this process but we also need a dose of realism or we'll have many disappointments to come. Still, by the time winter ends, we should all have our approvals and be moving on with the following steps. :)

My timeline seems to have moved a lot recently. It began with December 6th and is now showing December 25th...

Timeline

See mine started orginally in November, Now its somewhere towards the end of December. Ideally I would like to be approved so that i can fly home with Chris on the 8th of Jan when he heads back to the states. But realistically, I think Feb is more likely going to be when my visa arrives, hopefully PoE too.

October I don't believe even though I would like too, November however I still think is a possibility, hey some people from September have already been approved, so why not us?

But its that little bit of crazy hope that is getting me through this. 10,000 miles is a long way from home, I havent seen Chris since June and it will be 6 months when I do. I'm working as a relief teacher, so Im not furthering my career and I am still living with my parents in a hope to save some cash for my wedding, Can't say its to most positive situation that I have been in in the last couple of years.

The one thing that makes it easier is that hope that it is all going too be done and dusted so so that we can start our life together properly.
