Click "Embassy Info" and find Chile. How to contact NVC is right there in the instructions.

How to contact the consulate is there, but there is no information on how to contact the NVC on the Chile page.

Use the Colombia one then.

Or calling is worthless, because i am still within 6 months. Thanks for suggestions

You'd be better off going down to the park to ask the pigeons the meaning of life.

I sleep for a few hours and I am pages behind! haiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

Thanks everyone for all the congratulations....................................

Friday isnt done yet, more approvals are coming!

And the most important one... mine... mwuahaha!

I have realized there is a potential delay for me in getting a NOA2 beyond the passport photo issue... basically the NOA1-NOA2 = investigation of the USC, which I realized ahead of time but today I realized that yikes... I had a pretty bad falling out with a former business partner (hence forth to be known as the devil) a few years ago and what I heard (through another partner who was a huge weasely gossipy type) that the devil had gone to the FBI claiming hacking and attempted credit card theft and a few other things (what I was told is that the credit card theft thing was thrown on there because that's pretty much the minimum to get the FBI involved in something... normally they require a pretty substantial loss to investigate things because when the FBI investigates something.... it's going to cost someone 200,000 to do it... I assume tax payers pay that...). Anyway, what I heard from the weasel was the FBI did send agents to interview the various workers in the office, I had long been out of state at that point and as I understand it the whole thing fizzled out after a while... pretty much all my information is second hand, the FBI never contacted me, I did have contact with the sheriffs office in a totally different state that I used to live in and they basically said "We're not saying you did or didn't do anything, but uh, don't"... I found out through family in the state that the sheriffs dept was trying to contact me, which is the only reason I think there is any credibility to the FBI story... I did look into filing a FOIA to find out what was said about me or to get more information in general but apparently I'd need to have permission of people who made statements about me for that, including the devil... so in the end I don't really know a whole lot about it... but there is the possibility that there is some kind of record/open case about me on the FBI's files (I think all this fun happened 6 years ago, maybe 7). Obviously no convictions or anything, I personally had no contact, so I don't really know if any of that is going to be an issue, from what I had heard at the time I was pretty sure the FBI investigators probably had a note or two in there about the devil being a delusional a-hole out to get vengeance for perceived betrayals and was basically abusing the FBI to do so... things go into some kind of a AP/Security thing for me... then no doubt that's what it's about... anyway, just one bit of paranoya about the approval process that may be pretty much entirely fictional events (like I said, I got it all second hand... from a guy who I consider untrustworthy and weasely, he never really provided enough details for me to be confident of what he was telling me)....

Anyway, back to the regularly scheduled waiting impatiently for the NOA2 haha... also... Look for me on FBI's most wanted!

ETA: I had seen the bit about the adjudicator already, I saw it before I ever petitioned.

Law enforcement officer's notes do not make it into any type of central database. It would have to be a conviction or indictment for the most part.

Smile for a while :)

Irresistible

A man was walking on the beach one day and he found a bottle half buried in the sand. He decided to open it. Inside was a genie. The genie said," I will grant you three wishes and three wishes only." The man thought about his first wish and decided, "I think I want 1 million dollars transferred to a Swiss bank account. POOF! Next he wished for a Ferrari red in color. POOF! There was the car sitting in front of him. He asked for his final wish, " I wish I was irresistible to women." POOF! He turned into a box of chocolates.

When you say law enforcement I think police, sherrifs, low level dudes... but we're talking the F.B.I. here, I imagine they can have an open case pending regardless of any actual charges being filed, and if USCIS checks with them for any potential hits, it doesn't necessarily matter that nothing was ever made public... the high up you go (CIA, and secret service etc) I imagine the less forgiving it becomes to be so much as mentioned. In the end I think the worst case is it causes a delay, but I'm not really expecting that so much either, I'll get paranoid about it though if I start to see some regular touches on my file and no approval or RFE (so far no touches, I figure they at least have to look at it once before they slap me into some security check hell).

Three day week? I think it's a 4 day week... or can you provide more information? Which days (I saw some posts about there being a day off for 23rd and 25th but I think USCIS only gets the 25th... the 23rd is for embassy's (or a specific embassy) and not servicing centers).

Grats to all that got approved over night whilst I slept :P

WOOOOOOOT!!!

So jealous

But happy that this time tomorrow I will have picked Chris up from the airport :)

I just read your signature, as a military member with experience in clearances, intelligence, etc. I can tell you this makes absolutely no sense. No where would USCIS ever have anything to do with a DoD security clearance. Office of Personnel Management might ask THEM for information in order to process a clearance which is not uncommon when you have foreign contacts (eg. USCIS may be contacted to verify that you're immigrating legally as a clearance will be denied if one is found to be associating with an illegal immigrant.)

The only reason I can think of for this that is even close to logical is that the military is investigating him for something or there is other derogatory information on his OPM investigation that would preclude him from being allowed to sponsor a visa. When I first consulted with an attorney about all of this I was informed that the I-129F approval process is an investigation into the person making the request and not the beneficiary, the beneficiary investigation comes once the package is at the embassy.

DeathNova,

During the NOA1 -NOA2 process they perform background checks on both parties involved, as Maciliant mentioned.

The issue we had was that USCIS does not have the clearance to complete the nesscary checks on Chris due to his position (he is not in the military but with a private company) and level of security clearance that is held. The form was send to DISCO to collect the information they need to process futher, he had to complete a number of forms as did his SSO to send back to DISCO which would then forward the required information to USCIS.

It was done last week and the SSO had to complete the information in 14 days so it should either all be at DISCO or on it's way back to USCIS.

As far as I understand it has nothing to do with a military investigation, rather they were questioning if he seriously wanted to petition national as it may put his clearance in question.

For the fun of it (years ago I have something when I was a kid that would transfer it to another officer), I called UCIS just to see if they have an RFE (for me or from another agency-they can have external or internal RFE's) and he said no red flags so far, no RFE's! He also said 4-5 MORE months is when I should be concerned as sometimes it takes up to A YEAR to get the visa approved.

After reading what the firmer UCIS employee wrote last February about his experience working there and how the system works, I figured it couldn't hurt calling them and asking about IMBRA, etc. He said even a speeding ticket could slow one's application down..anything (since they check us now, too).

So I imagine my file sitting somewhere on someone's desk and they're about to go on vacation and I'll get my NOA2 by March! I thought it certainly couldn't hurt and doesn't prejudice anyone...all I know is my file is somewhere in COLD VERMONT getting cold wanting to be touched!

Do a keyword search on VJ UCIS employee and you'll learn all about how it works...a wealth of information, although a year old, it helped solidify my concerns and validate how I thought the process actually went.

7/21/08 I 129f K-1 app given to Siam Legal Lawyers office

8/3/08 K-1 I 129f Sent (Atty Ofc made mistake delayed app, we learned later)

8/14/08 NOA-1

1/23/09 RFE Color Passport Picture

1/29/09 RFE Color Pics sent

2/3/09 RFE Pics USCIS acknowledged

4/28/09 NOA-2

5/01/09 NVC Received

5/01/09 Left NVC

5/15/09 Embassy Sent Packet 3 (we did not receive-they have correct addresses)

6/19/09 Packet 3 to Embassy

6/28/09 Appointment (packet 4) never mailed, had to ask to get email-they've got correct addresses

7/23/09 Interview Scheduled for 7:00am (A YEAR AFTER SUBMISSION)!!!!!!!!!!! APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

7/28/09 Pick up visa

8/11/09 She came to the USA with me!

OK, here is my theory, which seems perfectly logical (at least to me).

Unfortunately, not all people who file are members of VJ. Therefor, you are only seeing a sampling of members at any given time. Even within VJ, you see people who havent gotten NOA2 from July or early August or whenever - maybe for reasons (like RFE) or whatever, but actually good weeks or bad weeks on IGOR's list is really of no consequence. I think they probably kick-out roughly the same number of applications everyday, it just happens to be a good week if those applications are for people on VJ.

With all
