Some confusion arises when this is referred to as a forum. It's a "thread" within the K3 forum, not a forum.

I think you know what this person met...so did everyone else. We got the drift.

for real.......

Of course I knew what he meant. The newbie is the one who got confused because the thread was referred to as a forum.

I don't think he was confused by the difference between the words. I think he didn't know what the sawasdee "thread" was, and therefore asked what it was/for me to provide a link.

Thanks birch-beer and cham

Please don't confuse suggestions with criticizm. Life is just too short.

we are not confusing them...BUT there is a certain way to post things without coming across as rude. I am not the only one who found it that way. Some others did as well:):)

best wishes I am out of this thread as I do not have time to disagree with someone who does not see it

My fiance is in Thailand and her visa was denied under section 212(a)(6)©(I) & 212(a)(2)(D)(I) and the I-601 waiver is not applicable to our situation. What is there I can do to get her approved an to the US as soon as possible? Is there anything we can do?

Thanks You for your help.

POST THIS under the sawasdee forum. It's a forum specifically for Thailand visas.

What is sawasdee forum? Can you post a link?

So denied for admitting to crimes involving moral turpitude? How recent was this? It appears a 10 to 15 year rehab period is required.

From what a lawyer told me, this is a complex situation because it involves some gray area like "he said this / she said this". It's going to be hard to prove. Just wanted to see what others think.

Thanks.

The sawasdee forum is on this same page where you can find your thread.

The attorney states in the link provided that a I 601 hardship waiver does not apply because they are not married.

That is incorrect. They apply for a married spouse as well as for a fiance.

Too many attorneys get this wrong !

The Consulate notes in the denial that the I-601 waiver doesn't apply. You only file those waivers when the Consulate says so. In this case, they say it doesn't apply. While such a waiver may apply to a fiance in some cases, this isn't one of them. Certain things (in this case issues of moral turpitude) just aren't waiverable for a fiance.

I had no issue with the OP's specific situation. However the way the attorney wrote that statement in the above given link, implied clearly that only married couples can file a waiver. I wanted to point it out because that mistake is made too many times.

That is the only correction I made.

I did not know enough about the OP's case to determine if the embassy suggested a waiver or not.
