250px-Caipirinha_2_Thumb.jpg

Caipirinha is a traditional Brazilian drink prepared with a Brazilian liquor called cachaça (Good quality Vodka or rum can be used instead). It is a Great Party Drink and a favorite at Carnival.

Things You’ll Need:

4 Limes quartered

1/2 Cup of Brown sugar (white can be used)

5 Ounces of cachaça (or more!)

Ice cubes (preferably crushed)

A Pitcher

Combine cut limes and sugar in pitcher and mash with a wooden spoon until the limejuice and the sugar start to dissolve. Pour rum or Vodka to taste. (Use limeade for a non- alcoholic ) Mix well and add crushed ice. ENJOY

Reggae on the Beach

I love tropical beaches so I have many great memories of being at the beach. One of the best was when So and I drove from Dakar to Gambia. Took us forever so it was dark by the time we checked into the hotel. We went to the clubs that night and I didn't get up the next day until 11 am. Our room was right on the beach....by 11.05 I was in the ocean. We ate lunch, dinner, and listen to reggae music on the beach until dark.

Personally, I think that some of the best beaches can be found in Southern California (SoCal). Not necessarily best in beauty, but just overall damn good...There are a trillion beaches there, but two of my favorite hangout spots were Oceanside and La Jolla Shores. I have so many good memories from those beaches. I've found a few photos of them.

What a great idea!!! Even less expensive than a "stay-cation". :jest:

One of my favorite beach memories, was the time my hubby took me on vacation to Wondo Genet and Lake Langano. We spent the morning in Wondo Genet relaxing and bathing in the natural hot springs. After lunch we drove down to the beach at Lake Lagano. It was so beautiful! The shoreline was accented with green acacia trees. We checked into our room them went for a stroll on the beach, stopping to dip our feet in and look at the landscape. That night we built a bonfire on the beach and drank Caiprinhas. We ended the evening with a stroll under a full moon. : )

Thank you for the invite! The beach you will find me on is in St. Lucia. Maybe at Sandals (wishful thinking) or maybe with a sleeping bag on the sand(I am broke too) Anyway I have my amaretta sour sitting next to me and I am ready for this party as well. Do you mind if I turn on some Beres Hammond, or maybe some Shaba ranks?
