I will be flying to the U.S next month and am curious about what exactly the immigration people are requiring upon arrival?

I've read where other immigrants are not having to foward their x-ray whereas Filippina are?

What was required by immigration when you arrived at your POE?

Thanks for your insights.

we went thru POE july 31 at LAX. my SO presented her packet from the embassy. "the unopened envelope w/ the left corner cut off" & her passport w/ the visa & cfo certification inside & her I-94. the immigration officer opened the packet stamped about 7-8 things, seperated, signed & stapled the I-94 to her passport & to the packet. took her left/right index finger prints..her pic. told her welcome to america & told me welcome home & be expecting some mail. a total of about 5 or so minutes once we got to thru the line to the officer. it was very quick & hasselfree.

Thanks for the replies..

Well, i'm more curious about the xray film if it's really needed at the immigration or could I just put it inside my check in luggage..

You see i will be travelling alone with my baby and having to bring the xray makes it harder.

I haven't bought my tickets but planning to have my POE @ LAX.

i was asked abt my xray film during my POE at detroit..

they even ask the xray film at NAIA before luggage check-in..

i remember the girl behind me at NAIA (under k1 too), she was asked abt the xray film too..

she's travelling with her kids.. she used a drawing tube for her xray film..

something like this..

we were not asked about the x-ray films at LAX. but, i would bring it w/ you as part of your carry on just in case they do ask for it. even if you don't have a tube to put it in to protect it from getting damaged in the overhead compartments..you can just hold it in your hands during take off & landing...btw: the immigration officer spoke to my SO 1st in tagalog then in visayan...it really made her feel at ease. good luck!

Hi.. My POE was Guam.. I didn't have my x-ray film that time and they didn't ask me. The Immigration personnel informed all the Immigrants to enter the room. We were less than 10 I think. All of them were nice, they took my packet and told me to wait for my name to be called, after 10mins of waiting the lady called my name and asked some information about my husband and told me that we need to get married within 90 days and welcomed me to US..another guy asked me to have finger printing and stamped my 1-94. I thanked all of them for being nice..

My friend in Arkansas had Las Vegas POE and she did experience any harrasment like mine. Myabe you can look for a POE that few Immigrants so you wont take too long in the airport.. I think one of the POE has a big number of Immigrants is California state..

Have a safe trip here..send me buzz if you need more infos..i'll try to help you..
