I guess I just need to vent- after waiting on the phone for a total of an hour and 15 minutes, I spoke to someone at the national customer service center. The lady would not tell me if my case was being processed, how long to expect to wait, or basically anything useful. When I asked if I could do anything if my processing time exceeds the 120 day mark, she basically told me no, tough luck and that I can't do anything until the processing date on the CSC website changes to 30 days after my receipt date (and we've been on February 3 forever, it seems!!!) At the end of the short coversation she did, though, have the gall to tell me, "congratulations on your engagement." Yeah, really, thanks CSC for making it so pleasant to be engaged!

and the problem is????

Just think if everyone could have an instant day to day update on their perition....they would never get anything done. You need to wait your turn like the rest of us. 3 months is nothing and well within their processing dates given to you.

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.

karakmitchell,

Point of clarification - the lady could not tell you these things, because she doesn't know the answers. The people at the NCSC (please don't confuse them with the CSC, which is a different facility) don't have any more information than is available to you at the USCIS Online Status web site.

Apprarently I need to clarify - I wasn't calling so I could have an instant day to day update on my petition. I can do that online. I called about a discrepancy dealing dates online and on my I-797 and was transferred to speak with someone who did have access to more information. Still impatient, what can I say?

Why do people always go flippers when they are right on top of their approval?

The good news for you OP is that we can look for your Woo Hoo post in (hold on, checking).. three days.

OK, I just made up the three days, but wanna make a bet for fun?

paciencia, mija, really, it's all on schedule!

CSC posted processing date = 2/3/06 vs NOA date 2/2/06

Means your case is likely on a desk. They can't pull them all at once.. it's something like 25 to a box.

Then...we get a break for 2 years until we have to apply for a change in status...so the ride has just begun so sit back and relax!!!

I totally agree!!!!! I had someone answer me like that once and it didn't help me to feel any better. We all come here for support and to feel better and when people give you an attitude it certainly doesn't help. No one here thinks that they deserve an approval before anyone else it is just that we all are stressed and need to get it out to people who are supposed to understand!! I hope you get your approval soon and when it comes it will be the best feeling in the world!!! Just think that if you can keep your sanity to that point the rest of this process will be a breeze for this is the worst part!!!! GOOD LUCK TO YA!!!

I completely understand where you are coming from. I am in a worse situation than you and I can't find any end in sight.

My NOA1 date is January 4th, 2006. Today, it has been 134 days since I filed my application and I have no idea what is going on. I have contacted my Congresswoman and the Senators and they all have promised to help but nothing so far. Guess what, I have been touched 6 times since NOA1 date. Don't know what these guys are doing.

The person at the 800 number doesn't know #######. I don't even know why they are employed? What function to they fill that we can't do ourselves. They are there to only give us forms information. Well, most people who can logon to this forum can access USCIS website to get all the forms.

So, I have no idea what added function to these wonderful ladies bring to the table!

Anyway, that was my venting session. I really feel your pain and wish that are cases come to a successful resolution soon.

Thanks,

- Vishrit

hi kara,

I hope you didn't find my message unsupportive.. I guess I was trying to avoid making any very declarative statements except in fun, but really, it is very likely that your petition is on someone's desk right now. I wrote a long and somewhat inacurate post about the Service Centers that might have some joy in it for you:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...880entry33880

Experience tells me that you have every reason to be optimistic right now. :)

My NOA1 date is January 4th, 2006. Today, it has been 134 days since I filed my application and I have no idea what is going on. I have contacted my Congresswoman and the Senators and they all have promised to help but nothing so far. Guess what, I have been touched 6 times since NOA1 date. Vishrit,

Your situation is a bit different; your case is now "officially" overdue as of the date they posted that last update. When the posted processing date is 30 days past your NOA date, you can actually start hounding them to do something.

But, get ahold of the right people! The 1-800# is there to make people feel better (twisted logic). The people on the phone are not DHS, CIS or any other type of gov't employee--they are call center contractors hired out for (probably) the lowest bid. You would be better off tracking down the email address for CSC and getting some case specific info.

You can recontact your representatives' immigration liasons & make sure you've filled out the data release form they request and put your query in writing as well as by phone. Try faxing it to them. They *can* make an inquiry to CSC now that your case is overdue. Bear in mind that your case may be pulled for extra security screening and that if you've had an RFE, the 30-day thing is out the window.

Good luck to you; spend your energies in the most effective areas. :)
