I know this may seem over the top since I only just submitted my CR1 app in may... but I thought I might as well get ready and have them on my side in advance..

Was just emailing them all I had to do? Isn't there something I need to sign?

ours sent me a permission form that allowed them to look into our case and receive information about it

Go to their website to get the permission form. You'll need to fax it back to them.

call their office...they wont touch your case unless they have u sign your life on that form.

Call your congressman office, they will tell you excatly what you need to do. I did just that and now they will send me form in mail for me to fillout.

Rajaa the congressmen and senators cannot operate or inquire on your behalf unless you give them an official permit. This is often achieved by contacting the respective government official's office and they normally either Fax or post a form to you which you have to fill, sign and return to them. This has to do with the Privacy Act. This is all I know about the initial steps. If need be, I could ask my husband to give me complete details on how he proceeded with it but initially you have to sign and give the office approval to let them have access to your private information at USCIS.

I wrote them a letter giving them permission, but I know that they would not do an inquiry until my case was 180 days.

mine has been 149 days and actually i send the request to Hillary's office on June 12 and just now the send me a letter saying the have send a request to inquiry on my case
