I have questions regarding PCC ..this might only apply for India actually.

On the Mumbai IV website, it says if you're 16 yrs or older and have been issued a passport within 6 months you only have to get PCC from the passport office and no need from local police station..

my question is her passport was issued a long time ago..but she recently got a new one done with the name change after marriage.

Does that qualify as a issued withing past six months?

appreciate anybodys help who've gone thru this already....

Mystique,

If you look you at the new passport, it will say the issued date on there. And the date should say the date they issued new passport on with name change. So, I would say yes it does qualify withn past six months.

Hope I was able to answer your question,

i agree, check the passport issue date...if it was issued within the last six months then you shud be good to go with a PCC from the local passport office...but getting a police certificate from local police station should'nt be hard (i think)...

but to answer ur question u shud b fine with the PCC from passport office.

Thanks waithatter and cmnb I knew about the issue date. I guess its been 3 months since she got her passport and PCC from just passport office would only work if she gets a interview in next 3 months. Highly unlikely but lets I guess it doesnt hurt to get from local police station as well...

tricky situation about the 3 months....but, i always thought that the PCC has to be provided with DS-230 and not at the time of interview.....i may be wrong...if it is required with DS-230 then u shud b fine with the passport office PCC....if ur interview falls after 3 months from today (which i have a feeling its going to b as ur application just got approved two days ago)..but u can get a police certificate from the local police station easily without any issues..good luck and i hope all works out for you.
