Thank you to everyone who has wished us well on Saturday too over on Laura & Nick's page (sorry Laura but thanks for sharing)

We are not having anything as beautiful as Laura. Just a few friends from Indiana and Michigan going with us to the courthouse for the ceremony.

We did the big sh-bang in my home town of Cochrane at the end of June in the church. My family and friends were there. If things would have worked out as orginally thought, we would have had our legal wedding here in February and then the church wedding in June. So it's backwards but it still works and was still very special.

Once I get my pictures from both weddings :P , I'll post some here for all to see.

I was in Cochrane Alberta mid June for a wedding. Nice small town!! 2 thumbs up to its tim hortons!! Best of luck

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Flames...that is our western counterpart. I lived in Cochrane, Ontario - just south of James Bay. But I agree, it is a nice town. Thank you.

Cochrane is pretty nice, I guess, but it's no Moosonee. There's nothing wrong with a courthouse wedding, as long as nobody has a shotgun, it's all good. :bonk: Enjoy your two weddings and, for what it's worth, my parents were married at the courthouse in Marion County Indiana. On second thought forget that last part.

One more thing, I'm sorry if I gave you short shrift in wishing you joyous nuptials on Saturday, I meant you no insult nor any lesser success. :innocent:

You are so right about Cochrane not being Moosonee. Although in the spring, it's sometimes hard to tell with the evacuations happening.

You did nothing of the sort IR5....all is well. :D
