08/14/08 CASE COMPLETE: NO RFE FROM NVC:44 days

09/15/08 Interview date assigned

yep it was an expedite.

I was out of the country when they finally sent it, so I actually got it before. They also had sent an RFE so I had to fly back to send them that info. Either way, the approval went pretty fast after they got the requested info.

Congratulations! I was wondering if you ended up going to live in Gambia for a while ... so you actually had to FLY HOME from there to send something?!?! What a pain/expense! What was it that you had to send? (PM me if you want - I am trying to collect all my info. for people who go to their spouses' countries to wait ... a few people have asked)

One of my concerns about moving away was how to deal with all the NVC mailings and cover sheets, etc. - but being able to do all the NVC stuff online now is a huge advancement. The only real hindrance was calling that NVC phone line repeatedly from abroad, since there is no other way to check your status. But at least it was easy to make the call at 7:30 Eastern time (2:30 in the afternoon for me) when I need to speak to an operator - got right through.

January 7 I-130 sent - APPROVED in 106 days.
Interview - APPROVED 175 days from NOA-1 date
ROC - 2010-2011
October 5 - I-751 sent APPROVED 111 days from NOA-1 date, no interview.
NATURALIZATION - 2012
APPROVED 79 days.
May 9 - Oath ceremony - in Oakland, CA.

March 19 - Sent e-mail Choice of Agent, without scan of DS-3032. Paid AOS fee ($88).
April 1 - Choice of Agent information accepted (10th "working day" to accept).
April 3 - IV invoice appeared. Paid IV fee ($230).
April 11 - Sent IV package and AOS package TOGETHER. Confirmed delivery April 15.

April 26 - Case Complete (10th working day)

May 14 - Interview date assigned (12th working day)

June 5 - Interview in Sofia - VISA GRANTED!!!

June 16 - POE @ SFO. No problems. He's a citizen now!

Oct 4 - US Passport received. (SS card received some time in the summer; had to go to SSA office to obtain)
