Definately good at marketing themselves too....Why would anyone need to keep reminding themselves and others of their 'Qualities' otherwise

Its called Insecurity, they are not really reminding the world of how wonderful *cough cough* they are, but trying to convince themselves! ;)

I don't think so.. they just say it like it is. jealousy won't get you far. try working on ur own heritage

Good grief...

All this thread needs is a little Beach Boys....

00006f.jpg

Well east coast girls are hip

I really dig those styles they wear

And the southern girls with the way they talk

They knock me out when Im down there

The mid-west farmers daughters really make you feel alright

And the northern girls with the way they kiss

They keep their boyfriends warm at night

I wish they all could be california

I wish they all could be california

I wish they all could be california girls

The west coast has the sunshine

And the girls all get so tanned

I dig a french bikini on hawaii island

Dolls by a palm tree in the sand

I been all around this great big world

And I seen all kinds of girls

Yeah, but I couldnt wait to get back in the states

Back to the cutest girls in the world

I wish they all could be california

I wish they all could be california

I wish they all could be california girls

I wish they all could be california

(girls, girls, girls yeah I dig the)

I wish they all could be california

(girls, girls, girls yeah I dig the)

I wish they all could be california

(girls, girls, girls yeah I dig the)

I wish they all could be california

(girls, girls, girls yeah I dig the)

Thats a generalised statement. There are women with bad qualities and equally good qualities anywhere in the World, nowhere more and nowhere any less. As far as beauty is concerned, its really a personal choice. How come the world doesn't get to see more Miss Worlds and Miss Universes from Phillipines then... Also being religious has nothing to do with whether one is Christian or not.

The perfect wife is a relative term - depends on what you are looking for. Daniel and I did not have to remind each other and everybody else of how perfect a husband/wife we will make because he's American and I am Indian. Nor did we have to tell each other what the odds of us having a successful marriage were, based on the numbers...

People say they don't choose who they fall in love with but that is not the truth. We all choose by certain criteria before we even go on a date.
Whatever rocks your boat --- just don't pretend to know why people marry someone from abroad. And don't generalize -- or be kind enough not to include everyone in the "foreign bride" category. The day I think Bren married me because of some washed out stereotype of what "Mexican wives" are, I would kick his "American man" azz.

Peace out.

I am a Filipina but in this case I will have to agree with these two ladies.

BEAUTY IS IN THE EYES OF THE BEHOLDER.

I have never been one who is comfortable in telling people or announcing to everybody "HEY I AM BEAUTIFUL, THIS ARE MY GOOD QUALITIES blah-blah.gifblah-blah.gifblah-blah.gif.."

nor I have I been comfortable with others saying "FILIPINAS ARE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL.. THE MOST SO AND SO.. yada yada yada..."

Come on now, there are ugly filipinas (not only physically but also in character) as there are ugly people in other nationalities, there are filipinas who are cheaters and two timers just as there are also cheaters in other countries... there is no divorce here but there is annulment... and well, broken families are also rising here in the Philippines... not all are religious, and some who claim to be religious acts otherwise.. not all are honest, there are scammers around... not everybody is well educated... other filipinas would go after money and sacrifice family and integrity... there are filipina gold diggers. there are filipinas who have foul mouths and loses temper easily.... there are filipina sluts and attention whores... there are self centered filipinas who think everything is about them... there are materialistic filipinas who likes keeping up with the jones... there are filipina wives also who overpowers their husbands... and well, not every filipina have ultra feminine qualities coz if that had been the case, there should not be ANY lesbian around.

In the same way, there are very beautiful women in other countries.. there are honest one man women, even american women (and i personally know some)... there are women from other nationalities who value family more than anything... there are religius women in other parts of the globe (my first real Christian teachings was taught by an American woman-the missionary in our place).. there are other women from other nation who puts family first more than anything... and etc. etc. etc.

Thing is, good and bad qualities all goes down to INDIVIDUALITY not NATIONALITY.

Before my fiance and I got serious, I told him never to refer to me as "MY FILIPINA" nor to expect commercialized Filipina stereotype qualities from me. I told him that if he want to get serious then he should think of me as an indivual, a woman he wants to share time with, a woman he wants to spend a lifetime with because of my individuality not because I am a Filipina. I told him that if all he wants is to find a Filipina then he better look elsewhere and good luck to him if he ever finds somebody who fits the commercial stereotype to a "T" without him getting disappointed in the end. I am marrying my fiance not because he is americano but because I love him and he complements me... and I feel he also feels the same towards me.

When Ricky came here, I pointed out to him how different each Filipino/Filipina looks: from the skin color to other physical features... and even to different traits and characteristics... personal values and opinions. The Philippines is after all a diverse country with diverse people. There is always good and bad side to each person.. NOBODY is perfect... NO NATIONALITY CAN RENDER ANYBODY PERFECT.

No offense to my fellow Filipina, I am proud to be a Filipina but my feet are firmly planted on the ground. Just my 2 cents worth.

We could point out all the better qualities of foreign women over american women (in general). I don't think it is insecurity but pride! I would say most men that marry a foreign bride is proud that he has gotten a good wife over getting an American wife who has the bad qualities that drove us to look abroad. I know American women are going to say I am bashing them but this is not what I am trying to do. I am only pointing out that some American men have had enough bad experiences with American women that we feel our chance for happiness is better from a foreign bride. I know I would have chosen to remain single if I had to marry an American woman.

marry an american women? do people still do that?

I am all for people being proud of who they are with and naming the qualities that they are proud of but to turn around and say that all women from such and such a country are like this and all women from such and such a country are like that is silly...

For the American men here who specifically sought out Filipinas, I'm curious if any of them tried dating a Filipina/American here in the States? Is there a difference between finding a spouse fresh off the boat vs. one who's maybe a second generation immigrant? And if you make that distinction, then won't the same Americanization happen to the Filipina spouse you are marrying? Think about it.

Ah what a breath of fresh air this statement is. Its true that people pick out what the want most of the time. I met my fiancee online, NOT on a filipina website but on an american one, yeah she was looking for an american.

You chose her because she was Filipina?

I didnt exactly "choose" her, she chose me and I happened to fall for her, she wasnt letting me get away, and i'll admit that she pursued me for quite a while before i decided to take her seriously.

so in other words she worked on ya, and found a weak spot..you had nothing better so you said what the hell. that sounds like a solid foundation for a relationship

I was actually going to start a topic similar to this.

Since majority of the Filipinas here met their SO thru online dating and used the dating site like Filipina heart.com. I based my impression from the topic . . . how did you met you SO.

I'm pretty curious and I have a couple of questions that I hope you guys don't mind me asking them.

I apologize in advance if you find my questions rude.

1. for the Filipina women:

Why did you joined Filipina Heart .com or whatever similar dating site? Were you actually looking for a foreigner husband?

For the ladies who fell inlove with their SO regardless of their origin, how did you guys met? If you met thru Filipina dating site and by joining the site were you actually looking for a foreigner SO?

2. for the Significant other:

Why did you joined Filipina Heart .com or whatever similar dating site? Were you actually looking for a Filipina Wife?

For the the USC who fell inlove with their Filipina regardless of their origin, how did you guys met? If you met thru Filipina dating site and by joining the site were you actually looking for a Filipina wife?

Thanks in advance.

well said !! I met my wife on single parent web site. thus we are both single parents ( nothing to do with foreign spouses )
