oh geez.. there are bad apples all over the world they are not limited to the US... yeah these men probably had bad experiences with American women but you can't then turn around and say that all American women are like that.. that is just silly...

Hey I was trying to be honest. I bet deep down i am not as far out there as others may say. And also I have an ex wife whos American and 666 birthmark. I was alone for 10 years before I met my wife. I chose her for her qualities and values but to be honest I wouldn't have given it an opportunity if she were American. I am only being honest here.

My point is, whatever qualities you found in your wife you can find in other women regardless of nationality or ethnic origin. As for your ex-wife...something must have attracted her to you, right? Whatever negative traits you associate with your ex-wife have got nothing to do with her being an American. I too was also once married to a USC, but I never once associated her negative traits as having to do with being American.

Very true!

With a globalized or multinational presence here on VJ, posts/threads like this can be taken the wrong way. However, this is within the Philippines Forum and not in the "Off Topic Forum!" So there is some flexibility to express Filipino Pride as far as it does not become a nuisance such that the TOS is violated, but I do completely agree with your point.

Cheers!!!

I was actually going to start a topic similar to this.

Since majority of the Filipinas here met their SO thru online dating and used the dating site like Filipina heart.com. I based my impression from the topic . . . how did you met you SO.

I'm pretty curious and I have a couple of questions that I hope you guys don't mind me asking them.

I apologize in advance if you find my questions rude.

1. for the Filipina women:

Why did you joined Filipina Heart .com or whatever similar dating site? Were you actually looking for a foreigner husband?

For the ladies who fell inlove with their SO regardless of their origin, how did you guys met? If you met thru Filipina dating site and by joining the site were you actually looking for a foreigner SO?

2. for the Significant other:

Why did you joined Filipina Heart .com or whatever similar dating site? Were you actually looking for a Filipina Wife?

For the the USC who fell inlove with their Filipina regardless of their origin, how did you guys met? If you met thru Filipina dating site and by joining the site were you actually looking for a Filipina wife?

Thanks in advance.

I speak my mind, so please don't take it personally.

I wasn't either. I was in the UK for a long time before Daniel & I started talking and we both were not looking for anyone seriously. He for a long time thought I was British  The falling in love happened eventually and I went back to India and he followed. The rest is history. Nationality played no part in it, thankfully. I wouldn't have been too comfy with a person who thought certain nationality meant certain kind of wife for himself!!

I feel like I should be ordering by number.

"Yeah, give me a #4, medium, hold the nasty religion sauce, please."

"HOW much?"

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

Definately good at marketing themselves too....Why would anyone need to keep reminding themselves and others of their 'Qualities' otherwise

Its called Insecurity, they are not really reminding the world of how wonderful *cough cough* they are, but trying to convince themselves! ;)

Why you seem affected by this issue? Isn't that being insecure?

Insecurity - Lack of self-confidence.......you probably are unsure of yourselves that you don't have the confidence to post the good qualities you have. Why not start posting and overcome your insecurities?

Oh my gosh this is hilarious!!! Both Bren and I thought the other was Canadian for a while, since we were both teaching in Canada back then-- not that either of us really gave a rat's behind as to the other's country of citizenship.

Don't need to. Most people with good qualities don't go advertising. Their qualities speak for them
