Amy...I just went through this and I know there is nothing that I can say that will make you worry less, think about it less, stress about less, but just know God is with you. Everything will work out according to His will if you just have faith. Be strong and keep your head up. Stay busy today! I'm praying for you!! Let us know the good news!!

Ok, so I posted this on the Monday thread, but just in case there is anyone reading this that doesn't read the daily MENA threads.....

Looking to book ticket for hubby for this weekend. Royal Jordanian Airlines in Jordan told hubby that they have a ticket leaving Amman on Friday morning at 10 am. But they told him that upon arrival at JFK, he would have to find a connecting flight from JFK to Raleigh NC. I talked to Delta this morning (which is who I flew with there & back) & a ticket just from JFK to Raleigh is $300!! Its a 2 hr flight! If I booked the entire flight with Delta it would be about $820. So it would be cheaper....anyway...any suggestions? I don't want him to have to wander around JFK, which is huge, trying to find a connecting flight. Any tips on going through immigration/customs for him? Also, any tips on him calling me when arriving. His cell phone will not work here & I totally forgot how collect calls work & again I don't want him wandering around JFK looking for a calling card...etc. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

And sorry if you already read this on in the daily thread...just want to cover all bases.

Amanda,

I would go with the same airline if you can. If not, JFK was great to help my husband change from EG Air to United. It's so much easier if he doesn't have to switch airlines though. As far as him calling you when he arrives, how about you get a calling card online, give him the pin number and access number to call from the airport. This is what we normally do here if hubby doesn't have his cell phone unlocked.

Thanks Tasha! I can't really remember from when I arrived at JFK because I was so sad to be coming back...I know I bought a calling card at the airport to call my family....you can just pick up the pay phone & call with a calling card right...you don't have to use change? Ugh....wish his cell phone could work here!!

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

To stay or not to stay that is the question he asked me tonight. I thought we were going to delay the decision but he said there's only 6 more weeks left to decide before my return ticket.

That was when I was accepted to AUC but then they restructred their cirriculum while I was applying and a class I needed was no longer offered. I did just get the word from my study abroad advisor that another program in Egypt openned up and it's for Spring 2010 but we don't know the details yet like if what I need is offered. Plan B for study abroad is London Spring 2010. I would stay in Egypt till the London 10 week semester starts in March 2010. Hopefully we'd have the visa in hand by then and Waleed could get a companionship visa to go with me to the UK.
