Have any of you MENA girls filed for adjustment of status yet?

I want to do that asap and I'm getting stressed already.

Emily

We're waiting until we are close to our 2 year anniversary to file..

Dont stress now Emily! Enjoy your reunion and then start worrying about all of that :)

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Thanks for your reply. I'm wondering if that might be a good idea for us to do also. That way we won't have to remove the conditions, cos I dread that too. I guess we could just apply for his EAD and wait another year. On June 2 we will be married one year. Do you think it will hurt anything to wait?

Thats what we are doing, it doesnt harm anything. we just mailed off the EAD app. the only thing is its another 340 in addition to the 1010 of AOS, but i would rather do it that way and be done with uscis for 10 years  lol

I think if we file around oct or nov, we should be approved after our 2 yrs in jan.

To me, its the best approach to k3 visas....who wants to deal with uscis in another 2 yrs after this whole nightmare lol

I wish I filed a K3 petition now, Im thinking and I read that proxy marriages which are not consummated can bring in their loved one as a non immigrant. If USCIS dont believe we were together from our evidence I re-sent them with RFE, I wonder if they will give me option to file a I-129F? I dont know how much more proof I can send them short of getting USCIS to of watched us on our honeymoon . Any suggestions folks? They had RFE evidence since May 20th, and no word yet of decision.

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.

Beth,

I dont think they will find any reason to say you havent consumated the marriage. You loaded them with proof that you were there with him after the marriage date.

Hopefully you will know something in the next few weeks. Usually RFE's get their approval within weeks after submitting the evidence requested.

Dont even go down that road in your head yet! Think positive thoughts that you will be getting your approval soon.

I had to take a few weeks off VJ. This whole process is taking its toll on me and my family.

Congrats to those that got approvals and reunions. Hang in there to our RFE members, and keeping my fingers and toes crossed for those that have upcoming interviews.

Ibrahim still does not have his visa. They asked for his passport a month ago and the embassy still says, 'it is under review'. The only good thing about this recent delay, if he doesn't get his visa til June, he won't have to file for an extension.

I know airline tickets are crazy!! He will do fine alone. So soon hubby will be home with you! I envy you, you've had a long journey, and I see Happily Ever After soon for you and him.

Lisa, you know Indian is my FAV food of all time.

I don't think my hubby is much of a fan although I haven't offered it to him. I am actually a very good cook of it as well

We have tried as many middle eastern places around here as I can remember and find, however, nothing is as good as home.

Emily

Relax dear. Take it all in what you got in front of you. It will be whirlwind until the time he is in your arms.

Good Luck with everything.

I wanted to tell you that I am personal trainer and always maintained perfect fit but the last year of our journey took it's toll so much and I stopped everything. Cold Turkey. Just became depressed from it all and I let myself go.

So from the last time I saw him in March 08 until he got here in Nov 08, I had put on weight and not only that, lost my definition and muscle tone. I felt worst and didn't even want my own husband to see me. At that point, 7 months ago, I wasn't even as bad as I am now. My hubby loves a little more to love, believe me, it is hard for me to believe.

Relax about yourself.

I started worrying cuz I told him wait till you get here and in the summer with all the girls and their bikinis and half naked and all. He said it doesn't phase him. I am not sure I believe but in the meantime he is such a doll about making me feel good about myself even though I am at my worst.

Since he got here, I think he gained at least 15 pounds. Now we are FINALLY going to join the gym together.

I can't wait. Gym has always been my second home and now it is time for me to get back on track.

With summer already here, I feel it a little late

I can't believe it is $1800 for a ticket to Jordan!!!!!!!

Jackie....take care....stay strong (F)

Yeah...the price is crazy. It sucks, but at least he will be here very soon! It has been 7 months since I saw him last and yes it is a friggin long time, but not as long as some have waited. I am so grateful that our timeline is about average (???). By the time he gets here it will be 8 months and we figured 8-12 months. :) Soon though...very soon!!
