amanda, I have such confidence that you guys will be A_OK!!! You are adorable together and as shallow as it is, they take that into consideration I believe.

How is everyone this fine morn? I was trying to stay off VJ today so I coudl get some work done... but I failed as you see :lol:

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive,and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Awww Lisa, thank you. I feel confident that we will be just fine as well, and you are the second person within this past week to tell me that they have confidence that everything will be great for us. God is on our side and I will not admit defeat!!! I know everything is going to work out just fine. :) Thanks for the support!

Hiya! to all the couch people and those who recently jumped off. I came to offer some of my birthday cake and let everyone know that my husband did indeed arrive safely and had a relatively easy time with the IO at JFK POE. We still haven't received his SS# or actual greencard in the mail yet. He's still exp culture and landscape shock. He told everyone "there's so much green and water! everywhere!" and he asks about everything "what does it mean?". Anyway, we are making the most of the limbo time by visiting all my favorite scenic spots and hiking trails. I found a place to buy halal meat too. Something I should have thought about before he arrived for sure...

Anyway best wishes for everyone, and congrats to all who recently got approved.

My husband is going on the hunt tomorrow (Tuesday) for a plane ticket. He's going to check different airlines to find a good price. We have $2,500 to spend and that's it.

EMILY CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!! :dance::dance::dance:

when is his estimated date of arrival???

I am relieved to see that I was not the only one that wracked up quite a bit of

high phone bills. :whistle:

Thank God those days have come and gone.

They will for you guys too, real soon (F)

I haven't heard anything from MOH....I see from his ticker that his wife has arrived

CONGRATS MOH :dance::dance::dance:

Amanda..hang in there girl...the consulates in MENA have been really busy

I feel an approval coming on :thumbs:

HI LISA!!!!!!!!! :luv:

Tina that is great news.

My hubby arrived with CR1 visa

he got his greencard 6 weeks after his arrival and got a job the day after his greencard came

I had an "in" for him at my old job and thank god they honored their word

He has been working like a trooper ever since

I know he isn't making much and isn't happy with his hours or the job but he has to do what he has to do

Tomorrow he is filling out another application and I pray it pans out

It is in the same line of work that he is doing

We agreed to give this job 6months to get his feet wet

Feet wet and soggy with it now he is ready to move on

Gotta always keep looking for something bigger and better

GOD BE WITH US :innocent:

GREAT NEWS :dance::dance::dance:

It is such a sweet time, catching up and snuggling

showing all your fav spots to your loved one and doing all the wifey things that us women love to do for our men :whistle:

Enjoy your time

I saw a few places around my way for Halal

When he came here we went to one because I thought for sure that would be important for him

that first one...he walked in ...he wanted out

he never made it an issue since then about it

however a favorite eatery of mine that makes Indian style food is Halal

I didnt think he would like the flavor of it..well he does and the fact that is Halal makes him happy

I am ready to start seeking out Arabic/Middle Eastern type mini market for essentials and Halal because I know the quality of meat is much better

He is a big meat eater though, lemme tell ya :blink:

Well my husband bought his ticket today! He's flying Delta and will fly direct from Cairo to JFK, then JFK to Atlanta, then Atlanta to Tulsa :) :) :) :)

He will be here June 5, and I feel it won't come soon enough.........

In the meantime, I'm cleaning and getting rid of alot of unnecessary junk, trying to make room and make everything ready.

I'm so nervous...I've been so depressed without him that I've eaten terrible for the last year and put on weight since I've seen him :angry:

and I'm so worried he will hate it when he sees me. It's depressing to feel so excited to see him but so self conscious at the same time. I've tried to talk to him about it, but I just don't think he gets it...........

My husband received his P3 from the Montreal embassy about a week ago (for the K3 which is what we are following). We will return it soon, but now it looks like he needs to stay in Canada for another year to finish school, so we will probably take our time. Looking into the possibility of him coming into US to activate the K3 and then going back to Canada to finish school.

Ahhhh.....we have finally made it to the teens!!!....19 days until our interview! I can't stand it!

I hope everyone is having a good week so far. I don't know why, but it has been a pretty depressing week for me....just in a rut I guess...seems to happen to me like every two weeks....I will make it though!

My prayers are with all of you here!!
