i dont know how to cook, i hope i'll survive there

Just last night Sweetie told me the same thing but my plan is to share in the cooking. A newlywed couple cannot survive on WHATABURGER and Dominos alone.

But one thing that concerns me is Sweetie wants me to get fat(ter) and be her baboy. Hmm, not good for a diabetic, I hope she will understand.

This is very true! The biggest mistake people make (even Americans) is over eating and since filipinos (at least that I know) don't eat such huge amounts at one sitting, which is one of the reasons most gain weight. I only know one Filipina who has not gained wait since she has been here (almost a year and a half) and that is because of good genes and because she eats proportionally (small meals, oh, and she doesn't eat sweets much at all).

Look out ladies because if you eat this processed food and in large portions, even with working out, you may get the belly bulge. Hehehehe...

Cheers!!!

if it is white, don't eat it...., flour products like doughnuts, cookies, cakes, pastas, bread, pizza, and even rice. if you must eat white rice, then do small portions and not everyday. artifcial sweeteners are worse than pure sugar. stay away from sodas, and sweet drinks. if you must eat any of these things. then do it only on weekends or certain pre determined days. stick to lean meats and fish with salads veggies, fruit, nuts and exercise. buy a bicycle or kayak. swim, hike, and walk. if you don't eat right and stay active. YOU WILL GET FAT. it worked for me. i lost 70 lbs. but sometimes you just have to get tired of being fat, before you do something about it. there are a lot of advantages to being lean... heath being number one. but its also great for making love too. good luck to everyone and their struggle to stay thin :D:D ron

i've been here in usa for almost 3 months.. I did not gained weight so far... (hope not or just a lil bit, bec im too skinny)

i don't eat american sandwiches a lot, i still prefers rice and egg, :star: and then i bought pancit canton and noodles stuff in Filipino store..

We go boating, swimming and biking too...

Yah girls, it's true, we should be careful of what we will eat bec majority of Filipina girls came here in USa gained weight.

their coke have those very high fructose corn syrup, stay away from it or just drink seldom..

as of me, I bought another brand of cola but still tastes like coke but used pure cane sugar.

My wife has gone from 95 pounds to 120 in 6 years. Not really that bad because she was a bit boney when she arrived, But you need to exercise. My wife doesn't eat a lot, but her idea of exercise is folding clothes.

Wow! Good to hear from you! :) ...it's been awhile. (Steven and Jinky)

It's the rice that has put weight on me! I am the husband... I had Ruchie cut our Rice intake by 1/2 in order to get rid of these extra calories. No more buying a 50# sack of Jasmine Rice...

It was the other way around for me. I gained weight visiting Eva in the Philippines. The food there is better and everyone wants to feed you. And at restaurants its very cheap. Eva and I promised each other that we would keep each other healthy. We want to grow very old together. ;)

Hi, I have been sticking to just answering the SSN questions this time around, but somehow a Philippines related question got posted in working and traveling forum, so I thought I would give things here a look.
