IMPORTANT Im American and my Fiance is Dominican

Here is my case.............

I was born in the United States, but I raised in The Dominican Republic were I met my fiance 4 years ago..

I met her here in PUCMM a wellknown university in santiago REP. Dom.

Im planning to marry her to live with her in U.S..........so I decided to go for k1 visa so we can marry in the US.

Questions..

1) Can I fill out the k1 visa applications while Im living in the Dominican Republic?... ( I dont want to separate from her for long time)

What Im trying to say......is if can I be in Dominican Republic while the embasy process the forms?

Yes, you can file the K1 while you are living in the DR. You MUST use a US address for the on the application. You can use a friend or family member, this must be a responsible and reliable person. You will need them to send you the NOA2 when it arrives so that your fiance can take it to the interview.

...........so It Doesn't matter..............Can stay in the Dominican Republic and go to US with my fiance when she get the k1 visa??

also, Do we have to go together to the interview here in Dominican Republic??

You have to go with her to the interview. In DR if the petitioner doesn't go they will either deny the visa or if lucky, schedule an open appointment for a later date. The emabassy is weary of fake relationships for visa so they like the see both parties present so they can do a thorough interview if need be.

ok..............so in general..........if everything go smoothly...........like how much time do we have to wait ( in the Dominican Republic) from the day of the first document deposited to the interview???
