I already posted that in AOS forum but probly no one knows the answer ,

so since i know lotsa people here i bet someone can help me and answer my question ,

morning everyone

am not sure where to post this , but if someone could answer me a question i apreciate it

ok my question is , if the USC and benefitionary are in process of K1 and waiting for the interview ,

( interview will be first week of aug )

will it have an impact on the process if the USC got caught drunk driving ( about a week ago )

and now lost his driver lisence

if it has no impact for the K1 will it have one when filling AOS ?

( my thinking is since its the USC it probly wont ,but I like to make sure so if someone knows the answer i apriciate it ty

I can't see how it would. The interview is about you and your paperwork, as well as demonstrating a continuing relationship and intent of marriage. There's no reason for the USCs DUI to affect the interview or anything else with regards to the K1 and likely AOS as well.

thats what I thought too ,

( by the way this isnt about me ,I already got my GC next step for me will be to remove condition next year )

It shouldn't have an impact on the K-1 visa - what it might do if the US citizen loses his job because he can't get to work without his driver's llicense cause an issue with the AOS later on re: affidavit of support. The K-1, however, should be fine.

Separate from the K1 application, I have also heard (maybe read on these forums) that if you have a DUI in the U.S. that it can be hard to get over the border into Canada. There was some post on here awhile back about a guy who had 2 DUIs 20 years ago and they just recently denied him entry into Canada, until he filed some sort of waiver or application. Not sure of the specifics, but you might want to check that out at some point.

yeah i heard about that as well ,

my friends fiance is from italy so i just hope they dont pan to travel to canada for vacation if they get aproved for the K1 ,but thanks everyone for the advice
