You are all truly inspiring people, no matter what country. I want to thank all posters for helping me to understand the intricacies and what to "maybe" expect. You've all been a great help.

The I-129F and I-130 were approved on 7/10/2008 and each letter stated they were being sent to NVC. My question is, what gets my wife here, to the USA, fastest?

Sincerely,

Ludmila and Patrick

K-3 (I-129F) tends to be a bit quicker because the Cr-1 (I-130) has some additional processing at NVC to do.

However, CR-1 results is a green-card upon entry which allows WORK, Getting SSN, and Applying for Driver's license, K-3 requires filing AOS ($1010) and for EAD if wish to work, get SSN, and Driver's license while waiting for green-card.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

k3 is definitely faster. But if you want to save money and spare yourself from the hassle of having to file for adjustment of status and EAD, etc., the IR1 is worth the wait. If you do decide to go the IR1 route, please check lotsofpatience fastest NVC process so u can cut your NVC processing time to 4 weeks.

Anyway, the advantage of k3 is that the NVC will immediately send the petition to the US Embassy and u can schedule your interview asap. As for IR1, aside from the lengthier NVC processing time, you would have to wait for an available immigrant visa interview. Some may have to wait several months.

Moreover, the NVC paperwork is more complicated. We realized this when we compared the affidavit of support for both the IR1 and K3. the AOS for k3 is waaaaaaaaaay simpler.

So if your priority is being reunited as soon as possible, go for k3! =)

Start putting documents together for your affidavit of support (such as IRS transcripts or FOrm 1040 and w-2, and to supplement that, letter of employment and recent paystubs), which you'll have to send to your spouse for her k3 interview. You can try USPS global express guaranteed.
