Hi there fellow UK bene's!

We have recevied a request for additional evidence/information and what they are looking for is below:

"Submit a legible final certified copy of the divorce decree that has been filed in any civil court and signed by a judge or legal authority showing that any marriage was legally terminated."

Now, the request is very clear and straightforward and for the record I really do have a UK Decree Final. I just wanted to check with other people because my decree is stamped by the court but not signed? Did anyone else have problems with this? Is it just that the court where I am is being cheap and not signing things?

I am going to speak to the court today to see whether I can get mine signed and certified.

Thanks in advance!

This seems to be one of those case by case variables. For the record, your stamped decree absolute IS a certified copy but not all of the people who process case files are familiar with the fact that UK divorce certificates are not signed. I know that someone else here who had this queried just went back to the original court where the case was processed with the decree in hand and paid a small fee to have it signed by a judge.

Luck of the draw, but one of those things that is fairly easy to resolve in most cases.
