Unsure how to proceed Ref Vaccination record

Does any one in the uk have any experience with the requirement of having a vaccination record? My GP does not have a record of any vaccinations i have or havent had even though i know i have had a few over the past five or so years.

Any ideas what i should do?

I just got them all done again at my GP's surgery and made sure they gave me a record of it.

We had the medical done on Monday and my husband did not have his vaccination record either and he has to get HIB and MMR unless you can prove otherwise.

To avoid any costs there.. tell your GP you want to get the MMR and HIB and take a letter from them saying you had it.

I had no records either so I had mine done again, too. The necessary vaccinations (excepting the HPV which is new anyway) were free on the NHS.

I think i upset my doctor he wants me to pay for them i wished i had gone and saw one of my customers ill bet he would have done it for free (they are doctors) its still cheaper than the Bentinck people

Actually, if you have no vaccination records on file they are supposed to offer the two booster injections you'll need free of charge. Usually you are better off talking to a nurse than a doctor about this sort of thing. If you wanted anything else they could legitimately charge you, but you are entitled to routine vaccinations and if you have no records held by the NHS then they should by rights provide them.

I suggest you speak to the nurse at your local GP and explain that as the NHS have lost your records you believe that you are entitled to the two booster injections free of charge - after all, if you had your records and had received any of these injections in the last 10 years you probably wouldn't have to have them again.
